Celebrating the new year by revisiting Gran Turismo Concept: 2001 Tokyo!
Released 24 years ago in Japan on New Year's Day 2002, this title served up a bite-sized Gran Turismo experience that put you behind the wheel of concept cars shown at the 2001 Tokyo Motor Show.
Last night, I went to a double feature of Maya Deren's silent short film "At Land" (1944) on 16mm and Christopher Nolan's "Inception" (2010) on 35mm.
It was a lot of fun to experience two movies from different generations, both themed around dreams.
Join me and @Qualbert1 this afternoon at 3.45 pm for "The Best Co-Op Video Games" panel at @OzComicCon Brisbane in the Workshop Theatre.
We'll share our top picks across various genres, including action, platfomer, puzzle, racing and RPG.

Here's a cool piece of home video history: Batman Begins on VHS!
Not only was it one of the last VHS releases from a major film studio in Australia, but it was also among the handful to feature the redesigned Australian classification labels introduced in May 2005.
Look what arrived in the post!
The Criterion Collection release of Seven Samurai on 4K Blu-Ray.
Last year, I saw the 4K restoration in the cinema and I'm super keen to watch it again.
I recently rewatched one of my favourite movies from 2024, Better Man!
As a huge fan of musicals, I really enjoyed this film. It features some of the best musical numbers I've ever seen, and the new arrangements of Robbie Williams' songs are phenomenal!
In late 2006, Sony launched Gran Turismo HD Concept on the PlayStation Store. This free, bite-sized game served as an early preview of Gran Turismo for PS3 owners. It features one track, the newly introduced Eiger Nordwand, and ten cars, including the series debut of Ferrari.
The speed in F1 Championship Edition on PS3 is incredible! The wide field of view, motion blur, and camera shake combine to create an unbelievable sense of velocity.
If you're an F1 fan and still own a PS3, I highly recommend this game!
With real-world LIDAR scanned tracks and a gamut of visual enhancements, @EASPORTSF1 is on track as one of the most authentic racing games of all-time.

Happy 38th anniversary to one of my favourite video game franchises of all time, Metal Gear!
The first game was released on the MSX2 in Japan on the 13th of July 1987.
Last night, I watched the 1925 silent film "The Phantom of the Opera" on the big screen, celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
The version shown was a restored edition by Photoplay Productions, accompanied by a superb orchestral score composed by Carl Davis in 1996.
I recently purchased the James Bond: Sean Connery 6-Film Collection on 4K Blu-ray!
This set includes all the 007 films produced by EON that star Sean Connery, presented in 4K with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, as well as the original mono audio.
It’s time for a Bond marathon!
I had a fantastic time at the Brisbane premiere of F1: The Movie!
As a long-time fan of Formula 1, it was a real treat to be among the first to watch the film.
A big thank you to @Qualbert1 for the invitation and to @warnerbrosau for organising the event.
I had a blast at this year's Queensland Games Festival!
Every year, I'm blown away by the innovation and creativity of our local game developers. Can't wait for next year!
Playing the Metal Gear boardgame today with @windycornertv - just finished the first two levels and plays surprisingly like the game itself. Even has story segments with codec calls!
Definitely check it out if you're a Metal Gear fan.

I recently watched Pink Floyd at Pompeii on Blu-ray and loved it!
The new Dolby Atmos mix is a sonic delight and makes me glad I upgraded my surround sound system last year.
