Daily reminder: Today in the U.S., corporations will steal $137 million in wages, the rich will steal $2.75 billion in taxes, and 1,300 humans will die from poverty, air pollution, and medical error. Who benefits from the news ignoring it and focusing on low-level crime instead?
If the NYPD were an army, it would be one of the largest in the world. It has offices in 11 foreign cities. It has six submarine drones. If it can't stop an attack in its own city's subway system, it's not because of a lack of funding.

There's another climate movie on @netflix and it's a great one to watch with the family! Captain Nova is a time travel movie about returning to the past to try to avoid the climate crisis...but if you go back as a kid, it's harder to get people to listen! https://t.co/0uqcAKRz2A
Remember its the private corporations that rule the planet not Govts who are their servants and it is their interests that Govts prioritize not citizens, not saving nature or saving our climate
That is why in 40 years of climate action, emissions have sky rocketed not decreased
We need a Green New Deal and a sustainable planet for future generations.
Those protesting against fossil fuel giants should be applauded, not arrested.
Today marks the 20th anniversary of the CIA-backed attempted coup against democratically elected President of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez on 11 April 2002. Chavez was taken prisoner and the businessman Pedro Carmona was put in his place. But within 48 the masses reversed the coup. 🧵
Thread of stuff I’ve learnt from studying civil disobedience/direct action/disruptive protest for the last decade. Not least climate activism. (Academic references & examples can be provided on request). 1/11
If you are able, you can also donate to the Climate Ad Project which made this video. We need a full-time staff member to be sustainable. So far every video we've made has been entirely on a volunteer basis and it has been a major bottleneck.

We won't stop. Earth breakdown will only get worse and worse, horrifyingly, until we end the fossil fuel industry and end enclosure capitalism, and transition to a system that puts the Earth and people first.
Follow @ScientistRebel1 and if you are able, chip in to the international legal defense fund for scientists who take a righteous and desperate stand for the Earth. #ScientistRebellion

Scientists all around the world were arrested for taking climate action last week, including many climate scientists. The media barely reported it. This should be deeply, deeply concerning. (above was a quote from the end of #DontLookUp)
If we can spend $782 billion on the military industrial complex and handout $52 billion in corporate welfare to the profitable micro-chip industry, please do not tell me we cannot afford Medicare for All during a pandemic or the Green New Deal during a climate emergency.
