@voranai In Australia we also got the news about the 10 monks being killed by a car driven by an 11 year old. I'm sure there's another keyword in that which could be added onto the list about road safety.
@misterkwai I went in Jan too, though this year. That worm video gave me goosebumps. It's kinda cool but... euugh! The rides through the mangroves there are so peaceful. It's nice to stop and just listen for a few mins.
@misterkwai Huge fish that guy caught! I went for a ride there earlier this year, it was just after high tide. For the first 1/2 of the ride towards the coast the road was covered in abt 10cm of water. Good fun
@bangkok_pat On nut
Pros: access to airport, not far from lower Suk & Siam, nice khlong-side walks, cheap massages, eats along, exploring the deeper sois along on nut road
Cons: no green space, the way Sukhumvit Rd divides, the awful suk / on nut intersection, far from Thonburi & old bkk
@Ajarncom The players will be wrecked. 4 hr round trip for their home matches, at best a flight from Hat Yai to Bangkok for away matches (if they have the budget to fly).
@Ajarncom Have you seen the 1999 movie? I found that way snappier and more enjoyable (2hrs vs 6). I don't think there's much point in watching the film now, as they are very very similar.
@Ajarncom I find watching Thai series on Netflix a good reality check on how poor my Thai really is. There are times a person says a line and I don't understand a word of it, but on second listen I know all the words. Damn Thai teenagers and their fast talking!
@Ajarncom I recently got a 200 baht voucher to use in BKK after a rescheduled flight. It was challenging to find any meal inside the airport for that amount.
@MrMeMock Yesterday a random guy congratulated me for picking up after my dogs. He said the world has gone to sh!t and it was good to see someone doing the right thing.
@BangkokDi This is the same chart from Loei, were new rules on burning enforced from April 2025 (which may explain increasing burning before then)? Seems it was worse through March, then better from there. Hope the trend continues.
@justindunne I feel zebra crossings are in many cases put on roads with speed limits too high, which along with speeding makes it harder to stop. In these cases it should use traffic lights to cross.
@Ajarncom I liked it too, have only watched the first season. I learnt a bit about the funding side of temples. I suspect much of the material is inspired by true stories.
