@JohnFea1 @bethallisonbarr @DavidBartonWB Thanks for engaging. There are many, like me, who were only exposed to a Barton slant on US history (conservative homeschool). Resources like yours help with sorting out the falsehoods and relearning the truth.
The last 2 years I happened to be reading books by indigenous authors at Thanksgiving, unplanned. These were amazing reads. I want to make this an intentional tradition. Any recommendations for this year?
"Any Christianity that justifies the hatred, mistreatment, or abuse of another is not the way of Jesus. It is heresy. It is offensive to God."

@genaLRthomas Also, I taught my kids that d’s have a doughnut first and b’s a bone first. that didn’t help too much until they reliably remembered to read the letter left-to-right, but now it’s a trick my 6-yr old uses frequently.
@genaLRthomas My kids reading curriculum suggested cutting out each letter in a different textured material (I used sandpaper for one & felt for the other), then have them trace with their finger while saying the letter sound aloud repeatedly.
@taylorsschumann Definitely adds another layer of stress to professional work! Especially during a pandemic when you can’t ask someone else to care for them when they’re sick, even if 99% sure it’s just a cold.
Celebrating the multi-faceted heritage, history, and hope of Indigenous peoples.
Indigenous peoples are not the past.
They are living, powerful, and loving today.

@jrice612 How effective are domestic violence prevention programs? I do advocacy work for children & sometimes recommend to the court that a parent do a DV prevention course. I want to learn more about them but haven’t found a lot of info online.
@grumpy_mac @thtrisha16@JBsTwoCents Yes, yet paradoxically also expect the other person—and you!— to change in ways you don’t expect over time. (Beliefs, goals, interests.) Who you are when dating is just a snapshot in time.
Reading “The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek” and the main character named her wise, strong, fierce, faithful mule Junia after the female apostle, and it’s perfect.
Why I speak up when I see false teaching about women and marriage: it's not to stir the pot. It's not to be negative. It's because people are actually hurting, and we have to address this stuff, even if it makes others uncomfortable. https://t.co/2l7QzzlHXq
I’ve heard @SkyeJethani and others talk persuasively about the need to move away from a “sermon-centric Sunday.” Churches who are trying this, I’d love to hear what it looks like for your communities.
@taylorsschumann @MaryVerett DUPLOS have been the #1 loved toy in my house for 7 years (3 kids), and my oldest who is 8 still loves them even though he is an accomplished builder with regular LEGOS.
