@ProteanEgovTech what the hell is this error? Not able to apply for TAN. Why do you people make these online application so complicated? Earlier used to upload easily without these errors. @FinMinIndia

Her name is Sonia Narang.
She was born on November 17 1975 in Chandigarh. Her father was a retired deputy superintendent of police. She was a North Zone topper in Class 12 and won a gold medal in Sociology at Punjab University.
She joined the Indian Police Service in 1999 and was allotted the Karnataka cadre.
She built a reputation early for refusing to bend. As Superintendent of Police in Davangere, she stood her ground against a sitting MLA during a violent protest.
In 2015, she was posted as Superintendent of Police in the City wing of the Karnataka Lokayukta, the state’s anti-corruption watchdog.
There she found something the institution was not prepared for her to find.
According to investigations that followed, an extortion racket was operating from inside the Lokayukta itself. Government officials were allegedly being threatened with raids and made to pay bribes to avoid them.
The trail led to the son of the sitting Lokayukta, Justice Bhaskar Rao.
Sonia Narang took cognisance of a complaint and put it in writing to the Lokayukta registrar. No action was taken on her report.
She did not let it go.
The matter eventually led to a formal investigation. The Lokayukta’s son was arrested. Other insiders were arrested. Justice Bhaskar Rao was forced to resign from the institution that was supposed to fight corruption.
She was later promoted to Deputy Inspector General in the Criminal Investigation Department and went on to investigate a major question paper leak scam.
When the Chief Minister accused her on the floor of the assembly of helping illegal miners, she publicly denied it and pointed out that she had never worked in any mining region or department.
In a later reshuffle involving around forty officers, several officials who had been probing corruption in the Lokayukta and mining sectors were transferred out.
In 2019, she was sent on central deputation to the National Investigation Agency in Delhi.
She was posted to an institution created to fight corruption.
She discovered the corruption was inside the institution itself.

Keeping in mind the rising fuel costs in the country, I bought an MG Windsor EV a few months ago. I genuinely believed I was making a smart decision. Unfortunately, what followed has been one of the worst ownership experiences of my life.
About a month ago, while returning from my son's school, a speeding Mahindra Thar rammed into my car from behind. My vehicle was moving at barely 30–35 km/h when the impact pushed it into an Innova ahead. The rear section of the car suffered significant damage.
The very same day, I handed the vehicle over to MG's service center for repairs.
From that point onward, for weeks, I kept making the same phone call:
"When will my car be ready ?"
Every time, I received a different excuse.
Last Saturday , I was informed that the repair work had been completed and only the insurance company's delivery order was pending. I was assured that the order would arrive on Monday and the car would be handed over immediately.
Monday came and went.
By afternoon, having heard nothing, I decided to visit the workshop myself.
And that's when the real story began.
The service advisor responsible for my vehicle didn't even know where the car was parked. After searching across three floors, we finally discovered it in the basement.
What I saw there left me speechless.
The car was in worse condition than it had been immediately after the accident.
At that moment, I realized that my biggest mistake wasn't the accident it was buying an MG. In the last 20 years, I have owned vehicles from almost every major automobile manufacturer. I've dealt with repairs, insurance claims, and service centers countless times. But I have never experienced such disorganization, negligence , and lack of accountability from any company.
Keeping a customer's vehicle for nearly a month, providing misleading updates, and then not even knowing where the car is parked is not poor service it's complete disrespect for the customer's time , trust, and money.
As I was leaving the workshop, I told the advisor "Brother, sell this car for whatever you can get even if I have to take a loss of a few lakhs. I don't have the courage to bring it home anymore. If I ever have to come back to this workshop again, I might genuinely lose my mind."
People may debate how good or bad the MG Windsor EV is as a product.
But as far as MG's after-sales service is concerned, my verdict is final.
This has been, without a doubt, the worst customer service experience I have ever had with any automobile company.
If you're considering buying an MG vehicle, don't just visit the showroom. Spend some time at their service center first. The difference between the two may help you make a much better decision.

Hey GST_Council & FinMinIndia,
GSTR-10 is supposed to be the final return that a taxpayer files within 3 months of cancellation of GST registration. I won't even get into the logic of requiring this return after a business has already closed or cancelled its registration.
I simply want to understand why the late fee is ₹200 per day (₹100 CGST + ₹100 SGST), with a maximum penalty of ₹10,000 (₹5,000 CGST + ₹5,000 SGST).
What is the rationale behind imposing such a steep late fee for a return that many taxpayers may genuinely forget to file after cancellation of registration?
Why can't the late fee be capped at a reasonable amount, say ₹500 or ₹1,000? A taxpayer who has already exited the GST system is hardly monitoring GST compliance on a regular basis.
Penalising such taxpayers with late fees running into thousands of rupees is excessive and disproportionate. *This provision needs to be reconsidered and the late fee for GSTR-10 should be drastically reduced.*
Please review and rationalise this harsh penalty.

Tatkal booking on IRCTC has become a joke.
Seats show available, but the moment it turns 10 AM, the site hangs.
10 AM: Seats visible.
10:01: Website freezes.
10:03: All seats gone—even in remote routes.
10:04: Site suddenly smooth.
By the time it works again, all tickets are gone even for small routes.
Then the website runs smoothly because nothing’s left to book.
This used to happen years ago.
Suresh Prabhu had fixed it, but now it’s back.
Agents win, common people lose
again.

Yet another #GSTHorror story.
A highly reputed business family running one of the most popular shops in a town for generations. Monthly turnover must be in crores. They get a notice for a tax demand for petty amount. A few thousands. They respond to the notice disputing the claim. The tax officer sends orders to the banks to freeze the businesses' bank account. The bank manager immediately calls up the family to inform them and helplessly tells they have no choice but to comply. The family is shell-shocked. The reputation they had built up over decades would be in tatters when their cheques don't get honoured. All for a few thousand rupees when they pay millions as GST every month. Shaken, they settle the demand.
Dear @nsitharaman@narendramodi this is the kind of tax terror that goes on in the name of GST - the 10th year of the Good and Simple Tax.
Few things to note:
- neither the bank manager nor the bizman knows whether the tax officer has the powers to do this.
- but that doesn't matter. It's the asymmetry in power and outcomes. Look at what the bizman gets to lose (and it is immediate) vs what the tax officer would lose (after a long drawn out process) if he is shown to have broken rules.
High time we curtail the discretionary powers of this parasitic, bloodsucking babudom. When is Modi going to get this?
A security guard in our apartment was moving a cooler this morning when it accidentally touched a parked Creta.
A small mistake. Nothing intentional.
Someone informed the car owner, who came downstairs, started abusing the guard, and allegedly beat him despite repeated apologies. Other residents eventually stepped in and stopped the fight.
Later, police arrived, society members mediated, and the matter was resolved.
But one question remains:
What has happened to us?
Cars can be repaired. Insurance exists. A scratch can be fixed.
But humiliating and beating a man who is simply doing his job? What does that solve?
The most valuable thing damaged today wasn't the car.
It was basic human decency.
What do you think?

Using Bhagawan Shiva’s image to draw comparisons with politicians like D.K. Shivakumar reflects a disappointing and irresponsible standard of journalism. If this is being done to curry favor with a potential new Chief Minister, it is deeply unfortunate. I never expected such content from Vishwa Vani. Dharma should not be trivialized for political narratives.

I had taken mediclaim health insurance thinking it would protect me during emergencies.
But for a small injury treatment that should have cost around 50,000, the hospital inflated the bill to 2.40 lakh the moment they heard “cashless insurance”.
Tests, medicines, room charges, random procedures everything suddenly became “necessary”.
This healthcare-insurance nexus is one of the biggest legal scams running in India. Middle class people are being looted from both sides hospitals overcharge and insurance companies keep increasing premiums every year.
Dear PM @narendramodi ji,
Can we have a meeting with all the CMs to completely Stop VIP Culture on the Roads? Why should tax payers wait in the heat while VIPs pass? There could be multiple emergencies for the travellers.
The traffic police faces the brunt of the people, while the VIP passes. In 100% of the cases, police are just doing their job. But, it really affects everyone. Finally, on social media, police are blamed. But actually, the person to be blamed is the VIP.
We need to find a solution for this.
I propose that the VIPs use helicopters/choppers and justify their movement. No tax payer should wait during this movement.
I request my audience to help amplify this. We need a solution for this !!!

Standing at a red light in Delhi with cameras installed.
Ambulance comes from behind with siren blaring. We immediately give way & cross the red light to let it pass.
Result? Traffic challan in my inbox.
There should be an option on the Delhi Traffic Portal to mention the reason — “Giving way to ambulance” or “Medical emergency”. Such challans must be waived.
When rushing to hospital, speed often exceeds 50 kmph — that too should be considered.

When our soldiers asked for tender coconut and inquired about the price, the vendor proudly offered it for free to the brave warriors guarding our nation even if it meant a loss to him. He gave tender coconuts to every single soldier.
True patriotism isn’t just words. It’s in actions like this. 🇮🇳🙏
