Yokohama Ryusei, this is so dissappointing. You don't have to like BL, but saying you "don't understand" it instead of simply saying it's not your preference sounds like you're dismissing an entire genre and the people who connect with it. What's worse, saying diversity as something you "don't understand" which can sound like you are dismissing LGBTQ+ representation rather than simply saying it's not your taste. This comment comes across as homophobic.
As a public figure, and an established actor receiving many rewards, if you don't have anything nice to say, please just shut up.
