@anthro_andrew@Goji_Saurus I think you have a point; I think there were definitely some birds that wouldn’t have been too much effort to add, given the roster. And I think the bird roster is sparse.
But, I don’t want to speak too much because from what they showed, animating the birds seemed to be hard
@Goji_Saurus adding an entirely new animal slot that never existed before. I think frontier looked at these similar looking species and thought it was better to pump out five relatively similar hoofstock instead of one kangaroo.
@Goji_Saurus Compare that to say, an anteater or kangaroo, which have really unique movement animations that aren’t really reusable in other animals. So when I see the 2 giraffes or wildebeest, I’m not seeing it as taking a slot away from a specific animal, but…
The fact that most things seem to be covered in Africa, Europe, and Asia is an open promise by Frontier that they don’t want to half-ass your favorite ecosystem. We’re getting ecological niches, complex behavior, food webs!! This stuff’s gonna be revolutionary
Even though I was really looking forward to seeing North American species and may have to wait, my excitement doesn’t hinge on just the roster. I love how closely Frontier have worked with zoos and conservation to make thorough and faithful reserves.
We are so close to launch and we can't wait to share the rest of the animal roster with you 💚
We'll be revealing the final TWELVE base game animals in the countdown to October 13!

@FatalError1999@PlanetZooGame I mean, I’d at least be a little bit hopeful (especially since Ostrich was already announced and we see this image)
Even if it doesn’t show up though, I’m pretty sure a cheetah will come promptly
