Since partnering with Guildford Tchoukball Club in September, our aim has been to boost participation in this inclusive sport and integrate students into competitive fixtures.
On Sunday, six Year 9 boys made history as the first Winston Churchill School students to represent Guildford Tchoukball Youth Team, competing against Fareham Youth in Round 1 of the Regional League in Portsmouth. Although they were defeated by a more experienced side, the boys displayed promising play and kept the score competitive.
Coach James, who leads our extracurricular Tchoukball club, was pleased with their performance. This proved a valuable experience and a significant milestone in our partnership. We look forward to further competitions in January, with additional students participating.
Mr Martin
Deputy Head of PE

It was great to see so many of our Year 11 students in school last week, to collect their examination results.
The overall outcomes are an improvement on last year's grades and reflect the commitment that these young people had to their studies. These improvements especially at grade 5 and above and grade 7 and above, also demonstrate an aspiration in our students, supported by both staff and parents.
We congratulate our students and wish them every success for the future.
Well done to our staff and everyone who has supported our students to become young people of whom we are rightly proud.
🌈 What a vibrant end to the school year at Winston! Mrs Kovic and Mr Fuller rescheduled the Colour Run for the final hour of the summer term, and it was a blast! The original date was postponed due to scorching heat, but today’s cloudy skies were perfect—no rain in sight!
The kids and staff had an absolute riot, with Mr Webster stealing the show by getting doused in gunge! 🎉 Check out the images to relive the colourful chaos.
This fun-filled event also raised funds for Woking Hospice, a charity close to our hearts. 📸 Loads of pics to go through—see if you can spot yourself! Stay tuned for video clips coming soon.
Big thanks to everyone who organised and joined in! Have an amazing summer! ☀️
All of Year 5 went to @wcscschool for a sports morning experiencing pickleball, basketball, shoot-ball and use of the gym equipment for fitness training.“It was tiring and exhausting, energy wiping but lots of fun”. These children were recognised for showing the school values. 🏆
What a day! 🎥 Our talented Winston Film Crew, made up of our brilliant students, captured thrilling moments from our 55th annual Sports Day! 🌟 From record-breaking jumps to epic races, their film showcases the energy and spirit of our school community. Huge thanks to these rising stars for their creativity and hard work. Watch the video below and relive the excitement! 🏃♂️📽️
Both Sports Skills classes, taught by Mr Martin and Miss De Bunsen have started positively. Picked as one of their options moving into KS4, the students have begun the exam content, focusing on the skeletal and muscular system. In order to apply their knowledge and use the information practically, both classes have seen a teacher led trotter dissection as well as working in groups to dissect a chicken leg. The lesson allowed everyone to see the role of ligaments and tendons in addition to identifying the major bones and muscles involved.
We are looking forward to continuing the positive start both classes have made.
Winston's students shone at their first Aquathlon at St Teresa’s Independent School! 🏊♂️🏃♂️ Seven students tackled the Sprint (100m swim & run) or Olympic (200m swim & run) races, competing against strong independent school teams. Undaunted, our students delivered stellar performances despite the heat, a backwards vest, and even a lost shoe! 🥵 All earned medals for finishing, with Ryan T (National Schools Aquathlon Champion) and Takara H-Y taking 1st and 3rd, winning shields! 🏅 Huge kudos to all for their professionalism and grit. Excited for more next year with the PE team planning bigger opportunities! 💪 #Aquathlon #WinstonProud #PEShines
