For a DSA that: evolves unionism into class-wide power; rejects trying to "reform" the Dems; enacts electoral discipline; builds toward a mass socialist party
We're proud to announce our public launch at https://t.co/Gqo4oLxjX5 !
We are a caucus of organizers in DSA committed to advancing class struggle, building democratic structures, and developing Marxist political education.
A maturing socialist org would have clear understandings of how individuals holding elected office is not equivalent to, nor necessarily reflective of, working class power. This is an excellent articulation:
Tony Unger sets the record straight on Rhode Island DSA’s political experiences with the Democratic Party and need for class independence.

Do DSA electoral efforts challenge the idea that politics are about electing new faces in high places? Or do they reinforce it?

Winter Caucus has 6 proposals for the 2023 YDSA Conference - aimed at strengthening member democracy in YDSA and at clarifying our organization's project as one that fully breaks with the capitalist order. Sign on to support here: https://t.co/Bc4HaUITGJ
We're putting forward a convention resolution for direct elections of the NPC: one member, one vote for electing the NPC. OMOV spurs putting the oft-used phrase "mass action" into practice. Sign here to help get it to the convention floor! https://t.co/oeUm2onTKT
The whole damn system is guilty as hell.
Solidarity to the loved ones of Tyre Nichols and other victims of police murder and police brutality. An injury to one is an injury to all.
Press Release from RWU:
“We suffered a one-two punch at the hands of, first, the Democratic Party; the second served up by the Republicans.”

We stand in full solidarity with railroad workers, and any actions they choose to take to stand for their rights, regardless of the Biden administration's demands.
Winter Caucus condemns the attacks on railway workers by members of Congress from both parties. This includes three DSA members, Reps. Bowman, Bush, and Ocasio-Cortez, who voted to impose an unfair contract and prohibit workers from striking.
https://t.co/W365bz12R7
However, DSA as an organization lacks the needed structures to address these issues. We must therefore organize DSA members to work to ground DSA in principles of democracy, programmatic accountability, and active membership, to build the base for a socialist caucus in congress
Show solidarity for rail workers and their right to strike/vote--and live a life outside work. Sign @railroadworkers open letter.

RWU fully supports public ownership of the nation's railroad infrastructure. Please circulate broadly. We will build a campaign around this in the coming weeks and months. Consider your organization's support for the idea! https://t.co/ucOtLpij3j
