@robkhenderson Incisive. Thank you, Rob. I’ve marveled at how hard we in academia focus on the college end of the K-12 pipeline and how little we care about the other. Harvard’s Roland Fryer proved underprivileged middle school kids could soar but no one asked him to do it in other schools.
@Rainmaker1973 A remarkable list. Words for feelings I recognize but never articulated tell me our shared humanity is deeper than I suppose. Those that don’t hint at the richness of learning others’ stories. Thank you.
@timkellernyc Amen. Tim’s wonderful teaching facilitated my own acceptance of Christ, and Jonah 2:9 became a pivot point in my life. Tim led me to it. May he rest in peace and may his family take joy in knowing what a wonderful work God has done through him.
@coldxman@RichardDawkins Coleman, I love your work, but Dawkins believes “where did God come from?” is a knock down argument. It isn’t. It’s a category error, like the question, “what does the color green weigh?” Each Q is based on a false assumption. An eternal God isn’t in the realm of cause & effect.
@RBernabe620 @michaelshermer Isn’t Michael brilliant? I’ve enjoyed learning from him too. So isn’t it surprising so much scientific and other evidence now supports the God hypothesis? Stephen Meyer, William Lane Craig, and former new atheist Ayaan Hirsi Ali are just a few of the thinkers worth checking out.
@tedfrank Holmes in Schenk: ” free speech would not protect a man FALSELY shouting fire in a theatre and causing a panic” (emphasis added) . It’s a narrower limitation on free speech, than the bar is suggesting in its troubling passage.
@stats_feed Why would the California bar exam, a two day highly technical test about law with a 54% pass rate, be considered easier than the GRE, a <4 hour test considered easier than the law school admissions test?
@SteveStuWill Thought provoking. Question- how strong are these correlations? What are the R-squared values? Both data plots seem to have very slight correlations at best. Possibility we’re concluding too much from ambiguous data?
