I’m sorry, but this all feels like I’ve seen this play before. Republicans ran the same messaging against Tony Evers. Did that work? They need something different. I suppose Crowley isn’t an incumbent. He’s got the Milwaukee tag, which Evers didn’t. That’s a pretty big deal. If it wasn’t, Tom Barrett would be governor.

The data center thing hurts Crowley but it just puts him roughly where Tiffany is at. Maybe Tiffany should call for the moratorium. Otherwise, it’s all muddled. The best hope for Republicans right now:

1) there’s something bad in Crowley’s past or present. He’s not very vetted.

2) Hong voters get angry at corporate David and stay home. But Tiffany is trying to convince everyone that David is a socialist too. Maybe he should be reminding everyone he’s a corporate stooge who was dropped over the finish line by corporate donor money after a racist attack against the leading black candidate and after corporate elites took out Hong.

Apparently, David failed to answer that question because he knows it’s true. Without Tony Evers he was DOA.

For the next two and half months, Crowley will be playing second fiddle to the Evers farewell tour.

I wish the National Republican Party and apparatus cared more about Wisconsin’s gubernatorial race. It basically will decide if this state will become an extension of Illinois or Michigan (something the Tiffany has seemingly abandoned after preaching it early on).

If Tiffany, according to polls, loses in November, then with a quadfecta (Gov, Assembly, Senate, WISC), Wisconsin Democrats will likely push for a 5-3 map eliminating Steil and DVO and maybe Weid if they can get away with it. The state will be bankrupt and businesses will flee. Last few conservatives like myself will contemplate leaving. The death spiral sets in.

We haven’t even gotten to the 2028 and 2030 implications. The new census would lock in maps for Democrats for the next decade, likely longer.

Republicans just lose, lose, lose thanks to a voter base Trump radically changed. Democrats play to win the short and long-term war.
