COUNTERFEIT OLIVE OIL SEIZED IN JOHANNESBURG:

SAPS Gauteng has seized 991 counterfeit olive oil products worth an estimated R79,280 during a search-and-seizure operation targeting three shops in Johannesburg Central.

The operation involved the Gauteng Counterfeit Unit, Commercial Crime Unit, Border Police and brand protection representatives.

Two suspects were arrested.

Police say the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to crack down on counterfeit and illicit goods, which harm legitimate businesses and may pose risks to consumers.
