This morning, Starbucks & Sunergos workers SHUT DOWN 10 CAFES in Louisville with their strikes. Workers are demanding that both companies come to the table and bargain in good faith. THIS is what solidarity looks like and THIS is what happens when organized labor stands together.
leafleting at non union stores today to show our support for them no matter THEIR CHOICE to unionize or not, and showing up at the picket lines of two stores on strike today !
president of the minneapolis teachers union Greta Callahan came to show their support for sbwu!
DAY TWO OF THE UNION IS CALLING BUS TOUR!
Today, workers at 300 Snelling and 47 & Cedar went on STRIKE and our allies educated customers on Starbucks’ illegal union-busting campaign.
We're hitting the road!
Union partners from all over the country are going on a nationwide bus tour to let Starbucks know it's time for a contract! #nocontractnocoffee
next step was demanding beth ford (ceo of land o lakes- on the board of directors for starbucks) hear our proposals and sit with us at the bargaining table
she was "not in today" and we were promptly asked to leave
but ! not before we shared our stories and demanded to be heard
truly though so grateful for our cap square family <3 madison is a UNION CITY and the connections we were able to make today were so incredible
happy pride
happy strike
xoxo state street 😘
Ah, @Starbucks, who do you think buys $5 coffee? Knuckle-draggers bingeing on cheap or free coffee OR people who support equality? Between this and your union-busting, good luck with your customer base. You don’t deserve us. https://t.co/lqS3wZSLvT
Last time we checked, Starbucks was being prosecuted for violating labor law in over 2,000 instances, yet they still deny ANY wrong doing. Starbucks spokespeople should not be taken at their word.
