I’ve got all kinds of questions about the public Ed system, STEAM programs and the like. But my most pressing query is …school ends in 10 days… Will our remaining cafeteria microwaves last that long?
Me and a student were both at the cafeteria microwave. It is one of three that are left. We started the school year with like six. I’m waiting and I see the microwave has 11 mins to go. Upon further inspection I see that this student is cooking his Ramen noodles in a metal bowl.
Me: Hey sweetie you can’t use metal in a microwave
Student: it’s the only bowl I had at home.
Me: I understand but you are going to destroy the microwave. Take it out and find something else.
Student reluctantly removes metal bowl walks away muttering “this is stupid”
@heymrsbond I apologize if someone has said this already but have your students use the dictate option to translate their words into print. Then help them formulate and organize their ideas from there. I know it exists in Word not sure about Google.

@heymrsbond Couldn’t agree more. I was able to pay & attend a national conference that I’ve never gone to simply because it was virtual. More conferences should use a hybrid model to increase equity & access. Or even hosting a live conference & offering a virtual experience after the fact.
