People from different backgrounds, races, and communities came up to thank them for defending South Asians and speaking against hate. And in that moment, something became clear: the loudest voices in the room were not the majority.
Extremists thrive on intimidation. They speak loudly to create the illusion that their fear and hostility represent everyone else. But silence from the crowd is not agreement, and courage has a way of breaking that illusion.
Hate is often smaller than it appears… and solidarity is stronger than we think.
