@ChumLine I know this sounds crazy- but I almost feel like the team also needs to find their rhythm a bit too. Once they’re settled in I expect more consistency from the players and more wins..
@ChumLine He tries to make too many passes instead of just shooting the damn puck. I think he played really well the first game and for being a center the other night he didn’t do bad - we just need consistency. Not sure if that’s gonna come with time or what
@forcethedump@worldhockeyrpt Honestly, the U.S. won last year and no one seemed to care. The U.S. was ousted early this year and no one seemed to care. There’s a pattern here ..
@ChumLine I honestly wonder if this is a good reason why the Sharks need to consider a new head coach too? Yes Warso won gold in the IIHF tournament last year but would be nice to have a more seasoned coach who understands the pressures of playoff and Stanley Cup hockey
It’s sad because if anything it was Canada’s defense that underperformed today. And this is a long running problem too because outside of a few elite defenseman Canada doesn’t have much depth on defense- Especially when compared with the depth of say like the U.S. Canada’s offense though is amazing
Hockey Canada has issues with defenders. Have a couple great ones in Makar, Bouchard, etc but the U.S. has much more depth at defense. Canada’s goalie situation is also a concern IMO. Better luck to winning gold next year though and hope they get the bronze!
Game over. We'll play for bronze tomorrow. 🇨🇦🇫🇮
Match fini. Nous jouerons pour le bronze demain. 🇨🇦🇫🇮

@TheKoopaGuy The thing is America can ice competitive teams. We freaking won this tournament last year while Canada was ousted somewhat early. It’s more how can we get American players excited to go to these tournaments? Can’t win this with the beer league level talent we sent
Not saying it doesn’t matter now that we’ve lost. We’ve literally not won this tournament in years and finally did last year( and no one cared lol) Which proves my point- gotta consistently get elite American players in this tournament so we can be more competitive in this thing each year
@JimmathersYNG@worldhockeyrpt I agree. June would be a great time but I know there’s the draft, etc so can’t mess with that. Even moving it back a week or two might help though
@Deezedjohn99@worldhockeyrpt I honestly didn’t know half the players on the U.S. roster this year. Too bad - just a few more elite players and we could’ve maybe had a much better shot. Here’s looking to next year …
@DatGamerLion3@worldhockeyrpt No coping needed. U.S. men and women’s teams won gold at the Olympics and we won this tournament last year. More an observation really
@footballwriter5@usahockey Apparently it is. My suggestion is that USA hockey encourages NHLers to go at least 2 of the 4 years in between Olympics - use it as motivation to prepare for the Olympics
