371 security and privacy academics, including a Turing Award winner, just signed a letter saying age verification laws are building global surveillance infrastructure. Every search, every message, every article read would require ID confirmation. Nothing in offline life works that way, and it shouldn't work that way online either.
I will in no way comply with the mandatory online identification (i.e. give away personal data to be "granted" access). This sets a very dangerous precedent that will be abused by those who can. The internet is an open place and access should not be conditional. Needed that said.
Version 2024.11 is out now! It features the โจSHINEYโจ new code editor, Windows ARM64 support, a built in updater and more. Read the full details below

Finally started working on Terra Nova's intro sequence. The game starts out with the player traveling to the Frontier Settlement of Taxandria on a planetary transport vessel, along with fellow travelers, getting a good glimpse of what's to come.
Made with #GameMaker, of course!
@William_J_III Thanks! The update to Blender to SMF is actually unrelated (though I might still add SMF here). It's had a small update because it errored in Blender versions >= 4.1 due to a change in how custom split normals are done. To export these models I'm using the other Blender exporter.
Progress on my latest tiny pet project Terra Nova that I'm working on for the GMC Slow Jam. The video shows the night ambience in the main location: the Frontier Settlement of Taxandria. Made with #GameMaker, of course! (and a good bit of modeling in Blender)
๐ข GameMaker 2024.6 is here!

Another use of #GameMaker's built-in physics engine for 3D games: elevated and/or underground railway tracks with smooth transitions and preservation of momentum. This took quite some time to create, though looking at it now, it's been well worth the effort!
Optimising your game can sometimes seem daunting... So we've released a new tutorial to try and help you speed things up while you speed things up! CHECK IT ๐๐ https://t.co/lRXWTv06xm
Writing a tiny bit of code for building tracks consisting of linear and angular segments on a grid. Most importantly, this gives a way to index the track's segments. Made in #GameMaker, of course!
@Cosmic_Void_ Ah yes, turns out I turned that off. That should be good now. Though if it still doesn't work, feel free to contact me on Discord (my user ID there is 472383536498999297)
