@callumiscringe Thats… what I mean. Its in alpha, and people are talking about it in a manner that suggests it should already be done. If you’re frustrated that an unfinished game is unfinished thats on you. Play it till your bored then come back when there’s something new
If this is true for you, reconsider playing this game. Deadlock is not a live service game, it’s a competitive Moba/shooter. Games like League and CS have longer droughts and retain high player numbers.
The reason yall are burnt out on Deadlock isnt because of whatever meta the game is in but bc we don't have any sort of content to keep us fed rn. We are approaching an major update cycle longer than the old goods new blood stuff and its mad boring. I hope this is beta so we can
@callumiscringe That still doesn’t address my point. Many “solved” games lose players too. It will never change burnout. People got burnt out after the urn change, and sure it’s not the biggest change, but it does change the game substantially.
@callumiscringe And like, I get why people want updates, they love the game and the devs obviously care greatly for it. I don’t think people demanding for updates on twitter will create a rushed update, but I just think at some point you gotta realize it’s you, and not the game.
@callumiscringe But as you can see with the old gods update, players still leave even after a short amount of time. No amount of updates short of completely reworking the game will stop burnout, because the experience will always be relatively similar. Most of these people are burnt out.
@JuzuLive In fact, most other betas for similar titles are short term anyways, the fact that valve has kept it open is unique.
This comment isn’t towards you specifically, however I think that a lot of the community is acting pretty entitled. We’re not owed anything, it’s a free game.
@JuzuLive My issue is complaining about the lack of updates when it’s still being developed. It’s an alpha meant for testing and feedback. If you’re bored and have given feedback, go play something else!
@JuzuLive At this point, whats to say you don’t eventually get bored with this too?
CS2 and LoL go for longer with fewer updates. Ultimately, I think if you play any game like it’s a job and aren’t playing pro, you should do what everyone else does - take a break for a bit.
@JuzuLive I’m not convinced of any of this.
Hypothetically, lets say we get drafts, the map is complete with new camps, objs, and we get new heroes and the game is released. At that point, we likely won’t be receiving updates the size of what we’ve been getting for longer periods of time.
@ToxicAssWhore I think Deadlock will be somewhere between a LoL and an Apex given the rumors of a PvE mode, graphic novels, new game modes etc. But league gets an “update” (half the size of old gods) once a year, and deadlock is getting consistent updates about every 150~ days. We’re spoiled.
@ToxicAssWhore My *actual* point, is that expecting a multiplayer Moba to have a similar content model to Destiny, Apex or MMO’s with no reasoning as to why outside of the meaningless definition of “live service” is setting yourself up to be disappointed.
