@desertfoxel That’s so good to hear. I do think it’s finally started to pick up now that I’m a little more than half way through. I’ve heard from others that book 5 is really good as well so I’m happy to hear that this series doesn’t fizzle out as it goes on.

I loved the first three books in the Red Rising Trilogy but I’m having a really tough time getting through Iron Gold. I started it over a month ago and I still haven’t finished it. Even by listing to it as I packed while moving I found it slow and turned on something else.

There are parts that I’ve liked for sure but idk 🤷🏻‍♀️ maybe I’ve not in the right headspace for it. I’ve heard it’s a lot of people’s least favorite in the series but I didn’t expect to have such a tough go with it.

I finished Unexpected by Lindsey Cord and oh my god it was amazing. I’m not usually one to go for unexpected pregnancy reads but this was just 😍. I love a “my girls” moment.

I’m about half way through Unexpected by Lindsey Cord and oh my godddddd. It’s already SO good. I love supporting smaller/lesser known authors from my home state, especially when their books are this good

House of Flame and Shadow by Sarah J. Mass - Yes!
I have seen a lot of hate for this one, but I actually think it might be my second favorite of the 3 CC books. I do have some grievances (like the # of POVs), but I flew through the second half and didn’t want to put it down.

Love in the Time of Serial Killers by Alicia Thompson - YES YES YES
This was another 5 star read for me. Sam was an absolute cutie patootie. The friendship being built along with the romantic relationship was adorable, you could tell they didn’t just lust after each other.

Can authors who write long series please start doing recaps of what’s happening in the series so far at the beginning of each book? I think this would be massively beneficial to someone like me who reads as books release rather than binge read.
