🔴 Journalists and representatives of Palestinian factions protested outside the International Committee of the Red Cross in Gaza City, demanding the immediate release of Palestinian journalists held in Israeli prisons and an end to the systematic abuses committed against them.

🔸 Journalist and former prisoner Imad al-Ifranji said more than 42 Palestinian journalists, including women, are imprisoned by Israel, while two others remain forcibly disappeared, with no information disclosed about their fate.

🔸 Participants carried photos of detained journalists and signs defending press freedom and condemning Israel’s targeting of the written word, photography, and journalists.

🔸 Fatah official Nashat al-Wahidi said imprisoned journalists are subjected to brutal detention conditions, including torture, severe abuse, humiliation, and attempts to break them psychologically and physically. He condemned the international community’s complete silence and called for urgent intervention to save their lives.

🔸 Organizers called on rights groups, international institutions, Arab and Muslim embassies, and Palestinian consulates to mobilize pressure for their release and expose their persecution worldwide.

The Sulala animal shelter held out as long as they could, but Israel's demonic ambitions reached their area in 2024. They had no way to transport all the dogs, so they left the gates open and opened every bag of food they had to sustain the dogs as long as possible. The dogs didn't bolt for the gates to run away, nor did they stay to eat all the food at their disposal. They chased the people who cared for them. This was the scene.

Two of those dogs miraculously traveled over ten miles and found the shelter family. I suspect most of them have been killed or starved to death, just like the humans have been killed and starved.

Saeed, his son Saed, and other family members are still caring for stray animals in Gaza, and have set up medical points for pets and working animals. But this scene still haunts them.

It's a sense of failure. I feel it too. So many of us do. Failure to protect the most vulnerable in this world.

To give this a good faith read that it doesn’t deserve, one point she seems to miss is that antiwar organizers are not merely a blob of moral energy that bursts at the sight of an illegal war. Antiwar activists are rational and strategic. Trump does not care about public opinion. He didn’t even try to make even a fake case for the war. The only pressure point Trump feels that regular people can control is legislative action and elections.

A massive march on Washington would do what? Instead, the rational thing to do is elect stridently, unapologetically antiwar candidates up and down the ballot. That’s what antiwar activists have been doing.
