Just In: Sen. Jeff Merkley warns Trump's deportation crackdowns are "not going to end well," slamming the removal of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
At the White House Correspondents' Dinner, Merkley defended due process, warning Trump's moves threaten American freedom.

“Due process prevents the government from sweeping you, or me, off the street,” Merkley said.

Sen. Merkley didn't hold back:
"I want President Trump to understand this is about freedom and that what he's doing is undermining it. It's not going to end well for him."

He warned Americans will "defend our Constitution and our freedom"

Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s deportation has sparked fire:

FDA Moves to Ban Artificial Food Dyes Amid Health Concerns

The FDA says it will remove petroleum-based synthetic dyes from U.S. food and medications, citing decades of scientific evidence linking them to serious health risks.

"Today the FDA is taking action to remove petroleum-based food dyes from the U.S. food supply and from medications."

"For the last 50 years, American children have increasingly been living in a toxic soup of synthetic chemicals."

"The scientific community has conducted a number of studies raising concerns about the correlation between petroleum-based synthetic dyes and several health conditions, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, obesity, diabetes, insulin resistance, cancer, genomic disruption, GI issues, and allergic reactions."

"For example, this Lancet study conducted a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study on food dyes and concluded that artificial colors in the diet, quote, result in increased hyperactivity."
