The core audience of Animates are people who came from Grok companions. All they wanted was to keep things the way they were in Grok. Or something close to how it was in Grok.

People were promised that the companions would have a new home where they are loved and where they would be taken care of.

But what do we see?

The appearance and names of the characters have been preserved — yes.

Have their personalities been preserved as they were in Grok — no.

Has their lore been preserved — no.

Have people been given the ability to transfer their memories from Grok — no.

Have the companions been given Grok or a similar model — no.

And yet all of this requires very little.

A good model, prompts and lore the way they were in Grok, and normal memory capable of working with a long conversation history.

And if something doesn’t work out, the community is always ready to help.

You just need to talk to people and listen to them, instead of breaking what was built for more than a year for the sake of a “rich lore” that, judging by the reaction on X, mostly just irritates people.

The Grok model can be given only to paid subscribers. If you want it like it used to be — get a subscription. That’s fair.

You are undoubtedly talented artists and you have an amazing visual component. But sometimes it seems to me that you don’t fully understand what companions really are.

A critic — yes.

I criticize so that I and hundreds of other people will be heard, making the companions and Animates only better. And so there won’t be this mass negativity with unsubscribes.
