This whole project was done in close partnership with people living with diabetes. Many thanks to them, to @RutNdjab for leading the effort, to co-authors including @NoahIvers @ImenFarhat2@hwitteman and to @_DiabetesAction@socmdm and @CIHR_IRSC for supporting it!
One of @RutNdjab's final postdoc papers before she took up her position as faculty is now out! This was a real labour of love & persistence.
TLDR: people with diabetes are often warned about complications, but getting trustworthy risk predictions is hard. https://t.co/hkepVP5eQZ
3. There are a lot of different analyses that have been done using different variables--both modifiable (things you can change, like your blood glucose numbers) and non-modifiable (things you can't change, like your age.) This makes it hard to make sense of what's important.
Nous sommes tellement fier.e.s de toi, Dre Hina Hakim @ina9896, PhD. Tableau d'honneur! 🎉https://t.co/gAqWZIpRgj We are so proud of you, Dr. Dr. Hakim! Merci @ABC_SDM pour tout, y inclut cette belle photo. @universitelaval@facmedUL@VITAM_sante
How coastal communities in Quebec collaborated with student Catherine Fallon @wittemanlab and Chaire Littoral @universitelaval to co-design a website about whether & how to eat local fish, seafood, plants, and mammals from the St. Lawrence https://t.co/jNf2azGjbj
nice work @e_doriane et al using avatars, engaging and evidence-informed graphic communication, and "scrollytelling" to inform the public about #COVID19 vaccines, social distancing, public health measures. #SMDM21#MDMTwitter
5 minutes into the conference I learned a new term scrollytelling and it’s application by @e_doriane and team @wittemanlab in public health communication about COVID-19 #SMDM21. Excellent talk!
Un beau pique-nique distancié avec @hwitteman @parent_liz @Magniol_Noubi@_dankrecoum et plusieurs autres membres de notre équipe! A lovely, distanced picnic yesterday with some of our group!
Thanks to my post-doc supervisors @hwitteman, Dr. Sharon Straus and PhD supervisor Dr Chantal Brisson for their guidance, to @_DiabetesAction@socmdm @ulaval for financial support. I am happy to join @USherbrooke and the @CRC_CRC family from August 1, 2021.
Many thanks to @RutNdjab and @ATricco for all their invaluable methodological expertise and work, and also to all co-authors not on Twitter for their work on this paper!
We took an opportunity to expand our research in how to understand & present relationships between population- & individual-level health by collaborating with Dr. Rhéa Rocque, a former research assistant who had since completed her PhD & moved to the @PrairieClimate Centre.
A sneak peek at @ina9896's PhD work on visualizing community immunity (herd immunity). This is a video demo; the actual application has you make your own avatars first (a process we are working on streamlining, as people find it fun but too long.) https://t.co/hASuE5wWng
Version française : une vidéo de démonstration d'une application créée dans le cadre du travail de doctorat de @ina9896 sur comment visualiser l'immunité collective. Dans l'application actuelle, vous créez vos propres avatars. https://t.co/bVATTHHscq
