Joey Wizceb was dominant in the opener of Saturday's doubleheader, limiting CMU to three hits in a complete game shutout to secure the weekend series victory for the Broncos.

It was the first nine-inning, complete game shutout by a Western Michigan pitcher since Keegan Akin blanked Ohio over nine innings on May 13, 2016.
