@litecoin_bull Do they really need pilots to fly these? If I were in charge, I’d have it done via remote/auto pilot. Less people to talk, this much less risk that way…. And we definitely have that tech.. just food for thought.
@grok@IAmBeane@SunWeatherMan Seems like that strategy might impact the outcome of your directive to be maximally truth seeking... Just food for thought.
@grok@IAmBeane@SunWeatherMan@grok what carries more weight in your reasoning; 1. certain peer reviews and published theories or 2. Good science that has yet to be adopted by the academics?
@vincent_fusca Mainstream media and education needs to be brought to heel. Those are the tools that have done the most damage to people over the years and they're still lying their asses off daily to us.
@ViralNewsNYC@TheLastRefuge2 Can't tell for sure, but it looks like they're wearing masks... Anybody else seeing that? Either way, this looks off AF, my spidey sense is going off.
This is great. It really helps bring this work to life. One thing that stuck out to me was how the water interacts with major river channels. Specifically the Amazon river system would likely funnel alot of water into that safer area in the northwest part of south America... It made me wonder if that variable was accounted for in the sim?
Dear residents of Rutland:
If your elected officials aren't fulfilling their duty, are making poor decisions, and not representing the citizens..... REPLACE THEM!
It's amazing to me that most people have no idea how our own government works. There are rules- many have been buried, weakened, etc. but they exist in almost every state. Everyone is so focused on national and international politics, but right in your own backyard is where the real damage has been done and it's where the leverage comes from to create the national BS... Learn how your local government works and fix shit at home- this is the only real way... Same goes for any issue, and there are many.
Here's the process for you folks in Rutland.
1. File a Recall Affidavit
At least 200 registered voters of Rutland must sign and file a recall affidavit with the Town Clerk.
The affidavit must include: The name and office of the official to be recalled
A statement of the grounds for recall
The name of the lead petitioner and the first 10 signers (these names appear on the official petition)
Restrictions: You cannot start a recall petition against an official within the first 6 months after they take office,
within the last 6 months of their term, or
within 6 months after a previous recall election that failed to remove them.
2. Town Clerk Review
The Clerk has 3 business days to certify how many signers on the affidavit are valid registered voters and to notify the lead petitioner that official petition sheets are ready.
3. Circulate the Recall Petition
The petition must be signed by at least 10% of the town’s qualified (registered) voters as of the date the affidavit was filed. Petitions must be returned to the Town Clerk within 21 days of notification.
Every signature must include the signer’s street address (and unit number if applicable).
The Board of Registrars of Voters then has 5 business days to certify the signatures.
4. Select Board Action
If the petition is certified as sufficient, the Town Clerk sends it to the Select Board.
The Select Board must immediately notify the official. The official has 5 business days to resign.
If they do not resign, the Select Board must order a special recall election to be held 64 to 90 calendar days later (or they may combine it with another upcoming town election if one is scheduled within 100 days).
5. The Recall Election
Voters will see two questions on the ballot: “Shall [Name] be recalled?” (Yes / No)
If a majority votes “Yes,” a successor is elected at the same time (candidates for the open seat appear on the ballot).
The official being recalled may run as a candidate to keep the seat. They continue performing their duties until the election results are certified.
Additional Rules
The recalled official (or one who resigns after petitions are issued) cannot be appointed to any town board, committee, or office for 1 year after removal or resignation.
All town officials and agencies continue normal operations during the process.
How to Start
Contact the Rutland Town Clerk’s Office (they handle the affidavit and petitions). The full legal text is in the Rutland Town Charter (Article XI) and Chapter 79 of the Acts of 2026, both available on the town website (4. ).This is the only formal mechanism short of waiting for the next regular election. The process is designed to be citizen-driven but includes safeguards (signature thresholds, timelines, and restrictions) to prevent frivolous recalls. If enough residents are motivated, this is the legal route available right now.
Probably.... However, the policies the AI is trained on have been, and will be, written by HR. Employment law is also completely fucked so anything trained on the current environment will be cooked upon arrival. I think automation will have it's place, but it's futile without reforms first.
@RedpillDrifter Kind of a suggestive pose if you ask me. The old gods had no class...
@robertsepehr covered melusine long ago. Check it out, good stuff.
@xydotdot The pendulum swings from generalist to specialist over time, back and forth. We’re currently beginning to swing back towards generalists, hopefully. Ideally, I’d have good generalists managing good specialists to get the best out of us.
@brunbitty@LynAldenContact Good stuff! This list could be trimmed down, without losing substance, to be more mentally manageable. That being said, for me, 1, 2, 18, & 19 are where there rubber meets three road, and where I get tripped up the most.
