@CPSUK You’ve just set a very dangerous precedent but I also see that you’ve timed this announcement really well to take the heat off yourself whilst the case around Henry is volatile.
@jeff49910401@yttriumlove Most buildings dont have windows like that in the UK. We do invest in fans and portable units though but they are inefficient in comparison.
@zoroscult@HomoSocialist@Milkym0o@conorpiper@PolitlcsUK Oh I understand that, I was a Prison Officer for many moons and it’s the same in there but even so - a Prison Officer can’t go home because it’s too hot. The best we had was we were allowed to remove our ties for the day.
@HomoSocialist@Milkym0o@conorpiper@PolitlcsUK You and Zack must live in your own bubbles. An emergency is just another job for an electrician - same conditions, can’t go home, still no pay if they do.
Because we just don’t live in the perfect world that Zack does. Most offices have aircon or some variation of it already so making it legally binding that people must go home above a certain temperature is nonsensical. By all means the government could subsidise air conditioning units for businesses and homes that don’t currently have them, maybe even advise businesses that workers should be entitled to more breaks in this weather.
@HomoSocialist@Milkym0o@conorpiper@PolitlcsUK Well done you - but I can tell you that if someones house electrics had all gone out and they needed an emergency electrician they most definitely won’t be waiting a couple of days until temperatures drop. They’ll be on Facebook looking for someone to come and do it.
How can they go home and do it another day? The client will find someone else to do it and then they lose a days pay and won’t have that job to go back to. They don’t have a choice unless Dave’s government will provide everyone (including self employed) with a go home early credit??
As respected as Roy Keane should be for his time at United - he is a 54 year old man who, like Gary Neville likes to shit on United. United players have deserved at times to be criticised and held to account but when United needed people to back them for positivity, for support - Roy Keane shit on them over and over again. Now, he can’t just say well done to Bruno but post silly memes to try and ridicule him.
