In 2007, I did this test shoot as I was not getting any bookings from my model agency.
My agent was furious as I had done this shoot without her permission. She screamed at me and said I would never work again. She also wouldn’t allow me to cancel my exclusive contract. After six months of no bookings, I sat in the agency’s lobby and wouldn’t move until they released me from my contract. Her seniors did. Once I had left, my modeling career soared. Clients said they had been asking for me many times, but my agent had said I’m not available. Later, I found out that I was competition to another model so my agent had to keep me out of the market. Why did it take me so long to leave? Why do we always stay in a bad situation too long? I wrote about this in my book and realized this is more common than we thought.
