@joshdviner I’ve got one for you to add, it’ll soon be 11 newsletters you can’t live without. Check out the content strategy reeder by @TheReederCo (Devin Reed)
I wrote every day for 30 days, on a platform I didn't know.
And I learned more than expected
I thought I'd:
• Gain thousands of followers (jk)
• Be happy with my content
• Make writing everyday super easy
Now I look at things a little differently
🧵👇
tl;dr
5 things I learned writing every day online for 30 days on a platform I didn't know
• First comes social, then comes media
• The best way to grow is to engage
• Discipline creates consistency
• Celebrate the small wins
• It's not easy
#5: The best way to grow is to engage
I thought to really grow on a social platform, you had to post new, valuable content every day.
But the truth is, speak with others online (comment, retweet, ask questions) and your value (followers) will actually grow.
The human brain will try to simplify by unconsciously organizing things to create a whole
Using 6 Principles:
- similarity
- continuation
- closure
- proximity
- negative space
- symmetry
@joshdviner Oh that's hard! I'll break it down this way:
If I'm reading for pure enjoyment - The Lion Tracker's Guide to Life
If I'm reading for learning: Four Thousand Weeks
@smatth31 Totally agree! Glad to hear. There have been a few times especially the last week where I would normally just not share but forced myself to just get something out.
The one lesson that continues to show up for me:
progress > perfection
Because:
• done is always better the not done
• simple is better than complex
• doing more = learning more
Be grateful today for what you've done.
And do more.
