I just want to make a few things clear:
The Holocaust happened.
Hitler was a demonic figure.
And instead of giving it a platform, our political leaders should be calling out and rejecting antisemitism wherever it hides.
Silence is complicity.
There is a high correlation between having power and being an asshole. Some of those people you think are decent are still pretending. That doesn't mean most decent people are pretending. That's a sampling error.
Looking at who is trying to make voting more difficult and elections less credible is a useful shortcut to see whether a politician, party, or movement cares about the people and democracy or only about power.
Do you butt heads with your parents over political beliefs? Or side-eye your friend when they start talking conspiracy theories? Or maybe you’re the one who can’t seem to change your mind?

Alex Jones was ordered to pay ~$1 billion for Sandy Hook lies.
But the key issue remains: It’s so easy now to make a lot of money by lying outrageously and cynically.
My piece on why we should focus on this, and the money machine, to slow this onslaught.

I recently read How Minds Change: The Surprising Science of Belief, Opinion, and Persuasion by @davidmcraney and it did a spectacular job of explaining the how’s and why’s behind people’s beliefs and belief change.
Here are some quotes that struck me as insightful/interesting:
“Societies aren’t fixed. Large social systems, though they seem stable, are always changing in subtle ways that are imperceptible to the people living within them.”
