I will say it plainly. I do not believe there is any longstanding chance of peace with Iran — on anyone's part — without regime change.
The IRGC are not rational actors you can negotiate into a deal. They are 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐳𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐬 whose fundamental belief is the elimination of Jews and Christians from the face of the Earth. In their theology, that is the precondition for the Mahdi to return.
You cannot split the difference with a movement that treats your annihilation as a holy obligation.
