One of the most interesting comments from Rivian at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference was about its in-house RAP1 AI chip.

Vidya Rajagopalan, Rivian’s SVP of Electrical Hardware, said:

“The chip we built is a very capable chip for physical AI. If anybody out there is interested in using our chip for robots, reach out.”

Rivian’s RAP1 is rated at 1,600 sparse INT8 TOPS and was purpose-built for autonomy and physical AI.

But the bigger story is the stack Rivian is building around it:

• Vehicle hardware
• Software
• End-to-end AI models
• Custom silicon
• Autonomy
• Licensing
• Potential robotics applications

And yet $RIVN is still largely valued by the market as an EV manufacturer.

In my view, very little of this AI, silicon, autonomy and robotics optionality is reflected in the stock price today.

The market sees an EV maker.
Rivian is building a full-stack physical AI company.
