Congratulations to Dr William Kramer, who defended his PhD this week! He made breakthrough discoveries in metabolic resistance to Group 1 and 2 herbicides. Time to celebrate and wish him well as he starts a new position at The University of Western Australia next year!

Hey CWSS Community, my name is William Kramer, I sit on the board as the Graduate Student Representative, and this week I will be taking over the Twitter account. We’ve heard from @breannetidemann in Alberta, Andrew from the East Coast, and now were moving State Side.
Looking for a PhD position? I am recruiting for someone to work on herbicide resistance and plasticity in weeds (Amaranthus, Conyza, others). Opportunity to work with a variety of tools to answer basic and applied questions in weed science.

This week in BSPM 308 (Ecology and Management of Weeds), the lab exam included a spot test that quizzed students on their knowledge of weed identification.
The marks are looking pretty good so far! I think we did a good job teaching @topa_mar
