#BiennaleMusica2026#KeijiHaino: “Thank you to President #PietrangeloButtafuoco, #CaterinaBarbieri and #LaBiennaleDiVenezia for this #GoldenLion. How far can the subject and the verb be separated in a sentence? Perhaps we should reconsider the hierarchy embedded in our language: what can be active, and what passive? Time flows from the moments before and after now. Human beings can perceive only a limited number of instants, each progressively consumed by the passage of time. We should therefore embrace both the past and the future, remaining aware of the transition from one moment to the next. These fragments make us aware of the depth of eternity. This is why, at times, I play just one instrument, varying its intensity and creating a texture, so that our present can be transformed into a prayer to eternity.”
