Dundon has been part of the MLB push for years. “I know I’m biased, but I think Raleigh is the best place in the country for a new MLB team.”
Last week, Brian Briner (North Carolina State Treasurer) commented on how “embarrassed” his office was that they didn’t finalize an agreement for a stake in the @Canes. But also noted, that conversations were had about the Rays and would continue for a future MLB expansion team.
Today, from @WRAL, Marc Lasry has stepped forward to be involved with MLB to Raleigh. Lasry was the owner of the Milwaukee Bucks during their championship season. He brings a wealth of knowledge and a diverse portfolio of sports properties.
Dundon can continue to build locally and amplify the Canes’ success. Lasry brings championship caliber history and further eagerness to make Raleigh a major sports destination. The State of North Carolina brings to @MLB that this is a long-term commitment to the area and a confidence that the State and private sector can work together.

North Carolina has 3 Top-50 media markets according to Nielsen. Only 3 states have more, and all of them have multiple MLB teams.
Here's why that matters...
• 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝟮𝟲% 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗟𝗕 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀, which is the most of any major sport.
• 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝟮 𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗼𝗽-𝟱𝟬 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀
(#44 Norfolk overlaps north-eastern NC & #36 Greenville overlaps south-western NC)
Meanwhile, MLB is barely tapping into any of this.
The Nats/Orioles are blacked out here, and the Atlanta Braves' designated television territory doesn't cover east of the Triad.
A team in Raleigh would help MLB blanket the East Coast, tap into one of the fastest-growing regions in the country, all while having minimal overlap with their other markets.

Jim Valvano taught us to enjoy life and to cherish every moment.
As we continue this journey, we’re reminded that the Stanley Cup Final is about more than hockey. It’s about people, purpose, sacrifice, and appreciating the moments that bring us together.
Forbes is one of many publications that have not just come around to the idea of MLB expansion in North Carolina's capital, but believe it's where it makes the most sense.
They believe NC is next in line for expansion and that Raleigh is the right spot.

Charlotte and Raleigh have had their differences, but when it really mattered, they've always come together.
In the late 80's when the NBA was looking to expand, the Raleigh leadership was extremely vocal in their support of Charlotte to win the franchise that eventually became the Hornets.
Last week, @andrew_dunn's piece in the @CharlotteObser and the @newsobserver suggested that the Queen City is ready to return the favor with MLB.
Charlotte, Durham, every town and every city in this state, we've put in the work here in Raleigh for the past 8 years, building this bid with a dream of bringing home an MLB team.
We've gone from afterthought to potential front-runner.
Now, we need everyone in North Carolina to join us and do what they said couldn't be done...
Bring #MLB2NC together as one united state!

📈𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗖 𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗔: Population
North Carolina isn't just the most populous state without Major League Baseball…
We’re also the 3rd fastest-growing state, planted in the largest MLB deadzone on the East Coast.

For the past 8 years, the Raleigh community has been building a baseball movement from the ground up.
But make no mistake, as the real battle to win a franchise begins (and it is about to), our strongest position will be to unite together as North Carolina's team.
We have the history, the people, and the passion. This has always been a baseball state, and now it's time that the rest of the nation finds that out.
We are the largest state in America without MLB. We are one of only 5 states to boast 3 separate Top-50 media markets; the other 4 all have multiple MLB teams.
Phase 1 was to create the groundswell in Raleigh. Phase 2 will be to welcome every market in this great State to become a part of what you helped build.
In the coming weeks, we'll be shifting to highlighting not only our capital city, but the entire state of North Carolina.
Raleigh's case has been made. The pieces are in place. Now it's time to bring all of those pieces together, and bring MLB to OUR state once and for all.

@JomboyMedia@TalkinBaseball_ Although any player at that level should know the force is no longer in effect, I can imagine a scenario where Tyler was screened and didn’t see the put out at 3B, thinking it was just a throw home? IDK just giving benefit of the doubt.
Whenever we hold events, one statement is consistently made;
“𝙍𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙞𝙜𝙝 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙗𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡.”
We had more people sign up for our Wiffleball Derby than some cities have attendees for events. Throughout the day, craftsmen, teachers, small biz owners, accountants, designers, physicians, coaches all talking baseball.
There is an authentic feel with the Triangle. People are ready to root on a local MLB team. The pieces are falling in place to put #RaleighOnDeck
