Last night marked Kuf Alef Kislev, the 81st anniversary of the Satmar Rebbe Joel Teitelbaum’s escape from Nazi-occupied Europe. His rescue and later founding of the Williamsburg Hasidic community helped shape the future of our city. These celebrations recognize that history and the remarkable rebirth that followed. I was so grateful to join and greet the rebbes.
Congrats Mayor-elect @ZohranKMamdani!
We were heartened by your vision & compassion reflected in discussions we had.
Wishing your success in leading our city to safety, affordability &prosperity—while ensuring our ability to lead our religious life w/o government interference.
Last week, I had the honor to meet with Rabbi Niederman, president of @UnitedJewish (UJO) which has served Williamsburg families since 1966, together with leaders of the Satmar community.
Yesterday, I visited the Sukkah of board member Abe Deutch, where we were joined by many Askunim. So grateful for the hospitality and conversation.
Congrats to everyone. At times I even doubted we’d get it done by July 4!
But now we’ve delivered big tax cuts and the resources necessary to secure the border.
Promises made, promises kept!
Passing this bill and advancing this agenda has always been a team effort. @SenateGOP, @HouseGOP, and @POTUS are committed to creating a safer, stronger, more prosperous America, and this once-in-a-generation bill will accomplish it. Time to get this signed! 🇺🇸
Made my way back to Williamsburg to visit with some of the kids and their families who have been impacted by the Bedford Avenue bike lane.
While we are working to improve safety, some are trying to stand in the way — but we're not losing focus of what's important: our children.
Thank you @NYCMayor for standing with us & our kids to call for the changes in the Bedford Bike Lane that is now held up in court.
We hope that you and the community will prevail soon, to change back the bike lane so that those children can go to school and return home safely.
.@NYCMayor Eric Adams is now on Bedford Ave talking about the removal of the Dangerous Bike Lane on Bedford Ave which the Mayor approved for the safety of our kids, but it was blocked by the Court, Put Kids Safety first, Enough is Enough.
