Rich World Net Zero has a tiny impact
Even if the US, EU, UK, Australia, Canada, Japan, and the rest of the rich world go Net Zero by 2050
it will only reduce global temperatures by 0.10°C (0.18°F) in 2100
Still, it will cost $100s of trillions

He doesn't care anymore. It's just non-stop, in-your-face corruption.
The latest? If you pay Trump $100,000 a month, he will give you advance White House announcements on economic and trade policy.

People will go to jail for this.
@skdh Yes ... the fallacy about AI is that they 'think'. They do not synthesize novel ideas. They retieve data and make connections from existing ideas exponentially faster than humanly capable. So humans will continue to be the innovators but at a much elevated pace ....
@jonfavs In the parallel universe that is the maga US, live infinite SCORES of lies which have swallowed untold numbers of weak minded individuals across the spectrum of professions, crafts, industries, politics etc who serve as sycophants solely to perpetuate this parallel universe.
John Cleese and Rowan Atkinson feel like the last two adults left in the room.
For years they’ve been saying the quiet part out loud: free speech matters, humour is not a crime, and a society that cannot laugh at itself is already sick.
And for that simple, decent stance they have been dragged through the cancellation machine.
These are not angry ideologues.
They are two men who just wanted to make people laugh and tell the truth.
Instead they have been treated like heretics smeared, isolated, and told to sit down and shut up by people who once claimed to love satire.
The British humour they helped create the kind that was razor sharp, fearless, and never cruel for the sake of it has almost disappeared.
That humour didn’t just entertain us.
It made us stronger. It taught us not to take ourselves so seriously. It gave us thicker skin.
Now that skin is being deliberately stripped away, and the only ones still trying to protect it are the ones the culture keeps trying to cancel.
Cleese and Atkinson never asked to be heroes.
They just refused to pretend.
And in an age of mass pretending, that alone makes them extraordinary.
MAGA cult members, remember when Trump personally awarded Dr. Anthony Fauci a Presidential Commendation for his work on Operation Warp Speed and the COVID vaccine?
Trump apparently didn’t.
When Megyn Kelly asked him about it, he claimed he had no idea who gave Fauci the award. Kaitlan Collins pulled the receipt: Trump himself issued it on January 19, 2021—his final full day in office.
Thanks, Kaitlan Collins. The internet never forgets, even when Trump does.
The most ridiculously climate-alarmist headline?
"Canada is on fire, underwater and overheating"
Reality: 1) Canada fire is below average
2) Canada has lost 0.002% of land over past 30 yrs
3) Warming saved many more Canadians from cold deaths than added deaths from heat

Tesla's biggest profit last quarter did not come from selling cars. It came from a paper gain on SpaceX shares it never sold, and that gain was 2.5 times larger than everything the actual business earned.
The numbers are in the filing. Operating income was 398 million dollars, down 57%, on a margin of 1.4%. Analysts had modelled 1.5 billion. Below the operating line sat an unrealised gain of 1.005 billion dollars on Tesla's stake in SpaceX. After tax that single mark supplied 763 million, roughly 68% of Tesla's entire GAAP net income. No shares were sold. No cash arrived. Tesla disclosed the gain and stripped it out of its adjusted figures, but the GAAP headline still carried it.
Tesla owns about 0.15% of SpaceX, less than one share in 600, with no control and no meaningful vote. It holds 18,990,195 shares and marks them to the market price every quarter. Every 10 dollar move in SpaceX swings Tesla's pre-tax result by roughly 190 million dollars. A 21 dollar move equals Tesla's entire quarterly operating profit.
The stake is too small for Tesla to govern SpaceX and large enough for SpaceX to govern what Tesla reports as profit.
SpaceX hit an all-time low of 108.66 dollars on Monday, 49% below its June peak. Tesla carried the stake at 3.007 billion on 30th June. At Monday's price those same shares are worth roughly 2.1 billion, about 900 million below the carrying value. On current prices, Q3 hands back nearly the whole gain.
Then 6th August 2026. Two days after SpaceX reports its first results as a public company, up to 911.5 million shares come free, over 100 billion dollars of stock, more than the record IPO itself sold.
That is being read as a SpaceX supply event. It is also a line in Tesla's next income statement.
Tesla and SpaceX have not merged. Their earnings already have.
The piece works out what a car company is when a rocket company prices its profit.
Donald Trump: "Without tariffs, everybody would be bankrupt. Everybody. The whole country would be bankrupt."
FC: False. Trump’s tariffs have made Americans materially poorer. @atrupar (2026)
With the mass shooting at Seattle Center, it might be good to mention that Bill Clinton’s assault weapons ban reduced mass shooting deaths by nearly half - but after George W Bush & Republicans let it expire, mass shooting deaths more than doubled - because it’s the fucking guns.
