@Sluka64 The issue is that this isn't foreshadowing or teasing. It's just straight up a lot of context for this character that would be missing for someone who doesn't do research mid-playthtough. Requiring this knowledge would render the main story incomprehensible to the median player
@vibe_less____ How is a player who gets the game after it's finished supposed to know that they had to stop playing after chapter 2 and read up on a nearly decade old ARG to fully understand the core story?
@vibe_less____ Friend is incredibly missable in the Spamton segment. I don't think I've ever seen someone notice it their first time through.
And the ERAM fight alone doesn't hint at much. How is a player supposed to know that ERAM's add had anything else going on without outside research?
@vibe_less____@50Broo@michaelbomb_ How would someone playing the game for the first time know this exists. Relying on things like this to understand the core plot would render it incomprehensible to players that dont actively engage in the fandom
@vibe_less____@50Broo@michaelbomb_ I don't know what they plan to do with Friend, but requiring a player to stop and go do homework mid playthrough to understand the story is nonsensical when the story as presented is, to this point, generally quite straightforward
@vibe_less____@50Broo@michaelbomb_ That's how we know it's not gonna be in the main story. Is the average player expected to see every secret in the game, including returning to the game two weeks after a chapter launch to learn information that's critical to the main story?
@mchlkpng@zappgame__ Exactly. They can say it's all just for fun, but when 99% of this stuff doesn't end up happening, let's not act like a lot of people who obsess over theories aren't going to be upset. Just look at TADC.
