SpaceX IPO will be the most hyped trap for retail investors in a generation. By the time retail investors eagerly line up to buy shares, VCs and insiders will have already made 100x. Retail will be buying their exit at a massive 350B valuation. Another red flag is the way that SpaceX has structured its IPO lockup with a series of staggered release dates that allow most insiders to sell portions of their stock well before the standard 180-day window closes. Insiders sell. Price drops. Retail holds the bag. Are you ready for 6 months of selling pressure? The pattern is always the same retail buys the dream, insiders cash the cheque. SpaceX may be a great company. That doesn't make it a great stock at IPO price. I will wait the 6 months, read the earnings, then maybe buy the business, not the hype. I might miss out but that's a risk I'm comfortable with. You do you.
