The original voice actors of ‘AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER’ are calling for a theatrical release of the upcoming film after it leaked online.
“If it was going to be the actual release, right, it'd be like, 'don't watch it, because it takes away from the box office.' Paramount has my nickel. I already subscribed. So I skimmed it, and the art looks gorgeous. And I haven't watched it yet. Release it in theaters.”

In light of the Avatar leaks, I wanted to share a list of our visual development artists. There is so much amazing work we did on the film that we are not allowed to share right now, and it’s thanks to these people that the movie looks the way it does. Thread below ⬇️
We worked on the aang movie for years with the expectation that’d we’d get to celebrate all of our hard work in theaters.. just to see
people unceremoniously leak the film and pass our shots around on twitter like candy.. (1/3)
WHAT THE HELL??? This fandom is amazing!!! What a MASSIVE push forward for indie animation. This is really forcing people to realize a project made by ARTISTS that stays true to a CREATIVE VISION will always be better than corporate slop.
EVERYBODY'S WATCHING THE LEAKED AANG MOVIE BUT NOBODY'S TALKING ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO MADE IT
she worked on the Aang movie for years. Paramount. Flying Bark. the whole production.
she expected theaters. she got a streaming dump and a leak.
"people passing our shots around Twitter like candy" - that's a real person talking about real work.
and the comments? "you got paid, stop complaining." "drop the movie already."
but here's what nobody's saying..
Paramount never released a single trailer. no images. nothing. the film was invisible.
the leak made it the most searched animated movie right now.
the artists deserved better. the film deserved theaters. neither happened.
but at least the world finally knows it exists.
I have so many mixed feelings about this. As an animator who worked tirelessly on some productions that received an underwhelming official release, I can understand how frustrating it might be to see links and uploads of something you worked on circulating around like free candy. That said, the Avatar Movie will not be recieving a theatrical release. In fact, it's delayed until later this year to be released for only streaming. They have released no teaser or trailer for this film yet. Why? No idea. It's beyond disappointing how they insist on locking a film of this level of production quality behind a platform that very few people use to begin with. Between choosing to respect the creatives by waiting six months (a performative effort because the artists have already been paid) or refuse to support a streaming service owned by a billion dollar company that donates money to Trump and Israel, I don't blame people for choosing to watch the leaked movie. I wouldn't support Paramount either. I truly hope this doesn't negatively impact current or future Avatar Studios productions, but honestly the way they were disrespecting the franchise by delaying the promotion and release of this film showed how little they cared about it to begin with.
I know a lot of people have already expressed dislike towards the live action Lion King movies, but MY GOD! Rewatching Cats & Dogs 2; I've forgotten how SUPERIOR the old CGI for animals was!
SO much acting and personality poured into just 40 seconds..
guys you know what, back in uni i used to submit this pic to all those photography competitions and not even ONCE did it get shortlisted for the entry round. funny enough, it was rejected from my workplace's annual day events as well.
although i’m not a full fledged photographer, i really really love taking photos so naturally i had high hopes for this one but it was never taken as i expected it to be.
but now it feels like it finally found its place with you guys here. thank you so much for appreciating it and not just this, my so called “art” has received so much love over the last few months.
it’s given me the confidence to share without second guessing my own posts. so keep doing what you truly love and self promote it shamelessly because the RIGHT people will always find you, they always DO.
Disney wanted to prove it's thesis that 2D animation needed to be trashed so they intentionally gave this movie no marketing budget and released it a week and a half after Harry Potter the Chamber of Secrets came out.
When it inevitably failed Disney pulled all 2D animation projects and moved exclusively to 3D CGI slop.
Glad you asked!
1) LLMs are created by scraping all the art and writing off the internet without creator’s compensation or consent, allowing companies to make billions of stolen labor
2) This tech allows companies to then fire the very employees whose work they stole. It’s like taking your blood and using it to power your robot replacement
3) The resulting auto-generated plagiarism slurry can be extremely realistic, allowing companies, governments, scammers etc to create an infinite deluge of propaganda, fake evidence, scams, revenge porn, and addictive meaningless slop flooding our eyes from cradle to grave, a kind of reality-obliterating internet pollution at a scale beyond human comprehension.
4) That’s not even counting the massive electricity drain of the server farms that are gobbling up land and the impending economic crash when the so called “abundance” promised by Silicon Valley vultures never meets their impossible promises.
LLMs are to societal trust what toxic runoff is to drinking water. And just like the pollution that comes from Exxon Mobile, this disaster is only possible when the government abdicates its regulatory responsibility because it’s been bought off by the CEOs responsible
TLDR:
PROS: You can make Judy Hopps make out with Martin Luther King
CONS: Mass unemployment, the death of reality, a permanent underclass addicted to a digital meth slot machine
AI access is free or cheap now to get you dependent on it, so they can later start charging you — and you’ll have no option but to cough up, because you’ll have forgotten how to live without it.
So… maybe just skip that whole future crisis, and don’t use it / stop using it now?
