Read Theodore Roszak's "Flicker". First heard of this when there was a spate of 'cursed film' novels a few years ago (2023?) but forgot about it until it was mentioned in passing in John Self's review of Toby Vieira's "The Undrowned". It was absolutely terrific! Enjoyed the 1/6
Thanks @thebookseller for highlighting THE UNDROWNED by Toby Vieira published by @WeatherglassBks - and brilliant reviews from John Self in The Times (“A novel that made me laugh on the first page had me sitting in awed silence by the end.”) and Sophie Dickinson in The Telegraph.
Two acclaimed writers return with lauded new novels and Scott Anderson’s examination of US-Iranian relations is picked across the nationals. 👇 https://t.co/VfQCna1bUK
Is anybody out there? A new novel from Toby Vieira will appear next week. Pre-order now from @WeatherglassBks and check out this review from @CrimeTimeUK https://t.co/u4Nlufm1iN
Join critic and author Stuart Kelly as he chats to author and artist, @kirstennorrie on Thursday 29th May at 7pm, about her latest, transportive, deeply intelligent and richly unsettling book, An American Book of the Dead: A Wild West Séance. Book here: https://t.co/QROtLWskBJ
@EmmaSzewczak Makes me think of the midwife who - when I questioned something - said "Look. You are just going to have to trust us." Um, no I am not. I immediately withdrew from The Royal Free and went to UCH.
@phlaimeaux Have been searching through trying to find reference to a Raleigh Retro bike from the 1990s. Have been referred by Raleigh to Nottingham City Council archives. Leaving this here in case anyone has any info on this lovely red and cream women's bike from the 1990s...
@VirtualAstro The star Tureis was looking insane from the Isle of Wight last night. Green and red glitterball. Do you know of any interesting info about this effect?
The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin (5th October 1977). These monologues have a touch of the Ronnie Barker about them (possibly not surprising given David Nobbs' background). Rossiter and Palmer are (of course) simply sublime in this scene.
