@BarclaysUKHelp Tried to live chat about our mortgage via the mobile app but only get generic automated replies. Phone lines obviously overloaded. Where else can one try to talk about rate switch and switch to interest-only?
TODAY WE MARCH! When you arrive at Hyde Park Corner head for the Park Lane Intercontinental hotel, on Hamilton Place, the police are blocking off the traffic so it will be a safe place to assemble.
@mikebrondbjerg Don’t feel too bad by the way. If there is a 2nd referendum I will kick myself that I didn’t get myself a British passport in the meantime! 😉
@mikebrondbjerg Long time indeed (not on Twitter much anymore) - all well? Sure, it’s unequivocally a good thing, but some people seriously seem to think that 17m signatures = 50% of UK electorate, because Leadsom made that remark.
@mikebrondbjerg Leadsom can’t do the numbers (like, sadly, quite a lot of Twitter folk this evening). 17m signatures < 17m referendum votes, in real terms. Totally different electorate, including myself - EU national able to sign petition but not vote in ref.
The new @FairtradeUK briefing on #Brexit is published today. What could impact be, including no-deal, for producers in global South? Have a read... https://t.co/hZwdapF2zS
@Lewes_cfc You have a hilarious bug on your website! On the Fixtures page, all "previous matches" results are draws (with the first team's score just repeated for the second team). 😂
@Sugarhorse_ @IFA_Berlin In my previous career I went to a lot of tech conferences. I developed the theory that speakers/analysts/visionaries always say something is going to happen IN 2 YEARS. Short enough to sound exciting, long enough for people to forget you said it.
@instantprintuk Actually, they seem to be from you after all! Do you own the domain "https://t.co/RYWCyM8crd"? The links in the email go to that address. Either way, 4 emails in the space of an hour are a problem.
@instantprintuk@marvinjay We received 4 emails like that today as well. They aren't sent by you but by someone who seems to have got hold of your mailing list! That's a serious data protection breach, which you need to investigate.
@antoni_UK @thisismette I don’t know, did you see some of the cringey marketing-style waffle in the English one? Like “the UK would seek to achieve provisions at the cutting edge of global best practice”. You what??
@DavidHenigUK @antoni_UK Well, it's a rushed translation job, nothing more sinister. They probably gave the text to the translator a few hours before release. But that in itself is much more telling - the fact that they are making these things up as they go along, at the last minute!
@DavidHenigUK Of course. It is also proof of your main point that there has never been a "grown-up" debate about the wider benefits (and flaws) of membership, either in 2016 or now.
@DavidHenigUK I appreciate that you come from an economist's angle but I so wish commentators would include the other "hits" that come with leaving the EU, not just the economic ones. Environment, labour rights, security, culture, cooperation on so many levels...
