@Lesiajones99151@Baller_Report And if you believe that, here is Grok giving you the actual numbers. From 125 off to 112.7 on, a differential of 12.3 points.
So what's your excuse now.
Are you slow is the question? Washington wizard had the worse team defensive rating last season overall at 122 points per 100 possessions.
Minnesota had the worse defensive team in the entire league last year minus Rudy. Their defensive rating minus Rudy was 125. That is atrocious. Worse than any defensive team Kessler for played for minus him.
Despite that, Minnesota still finished 10th in the NBA overall based strictly on Rudy Gobert's impact. They were 12 points better per 100 passions with Rudy on the court.
Thats defensive impact. If Rudy can take literally the worse defensive unit in the entire league and place them in the top 10 by himself, what's Kessler excuse for never helping a team finish better than 23rd.
And if he can't do that, how the hell is he winning defensive player of the year???
You're delulu.
There is a zero percent chance that trade exception is used on a star. You may get a high level role player. Charlotte is not trading a ton of draft assets for a player who doesn't say he wants to be there. Literally last time that happened was Jimmy Butler to Minnesota, and that was a disaster. Yall arent the Lakers. Love it or hate it, they operate different. It literally expired in 365 days. It's not happen. Let the delusion go bro.
@AllAboutHornets I've said all along BMill would get more than t he good twin. Miller no getting g less than $225. I honestly dont think he wants to be in Charlotte anymore.
@Myperfectbluepr@fancydawncards@whatsontapnba And that trade exception will never get used. You cant trade for a star unless that star wants to play for you, and nobody wants to play for charlotte.
The Hornets have 3 picks in 2027, and absolutely shifty draft, and in 2033. Them kids still in middle school. They have no extra picks anyother year. By then Lee and Peterson will be fired, most the team will be gone, and Kon will be a rich mans Kyle korver type on a championship contender not named Charlotte.
Charlotte has one of the absolute worst rosters in the entire league. Coby should never be a starter, and if so, definitely not at PG. That was a disaster before and he had by far more talent than the Hornets team. Naz is not a starter either and is one of the most inconsistent players in the entire league. I know. I never understood Wolves fans infatuated. He frustrated me more than anything. Kin isn't a star, he is a complimentary piece. BMill is my guy, but hes not enough. And Moussa has no offensive value without a playmaker.
This offense is terrible without Melo and the defense is going to be bottom 5.
But carry on.
@TruckBon@Baller_Report Yall gave up 2 first round picks and $30m to a meeting role player, because yall got desperate to appease Luka. SMH.
Luke my guy, but Kessler ain't it.
@fancydawncards@whatsontapnba The fact that Charlotte even made any play in game was completely on the shoulders of Melo. None of those teams should have ever been close. Take Melo off any of those teams and they're playing for the #1 pick.
Long comment, but here we go.
1) You trap him to get the ball out of his hands early, similar to what teams have done to Curry, Luka and LeBron literally forever, to keep him from running the offense. It happened a lot, last year specifically, to Melo as well.
2) Even if he doesn't receive the initial trap, his ability to break down the primary defender forces teams to rotate and step up, which is essentially a double team itself.
At that point, teams will have to pick their poison. Rotate off of JK or JMac, they instantly cut back door for the lob or are wide open for the corner 3. Big steps up off of Rudy or Beringer, easy dump for a dunk. Rotate off of Ant(Or even Ayo or TSJ) it's either catch and shoot 3s from the wing, or catch in motion, attacking an already off balanced defender down hill to the basket, something their all good at. At that point it's an easy basket or the big steps up and still and easy dump to Rudy/Beringer for a dunk.
You're not going to double Ant initially if he's coming up on the wing without the ball. So doubling Ant from the outset of the play is going to be virtual impossible now. So the answer is to force the ball out of Melo hands and try to create an iso for a non playmaker.
If no one rotates at all, then Melo can take 30-40 layups a game(not literally) and kill the defense himself. If they get tired of him attacking the rim, and play back with no rotation, then he'll flame them from deep.
The amount of options on offense for this team is insane. They literally have the possibly to run any aspect of a good offense.
I also dont think they rotate Melo and Ants minutes much. Meaning they'll play together and sit together a lot. We'll see a lot of Ayo/Shannon together as well, which will add another different wrinkle to the offense.
Minnesota offense has the potential to be historic.
