I know who I am, & I won't let anyone else tell me otherwise. It's exhausting to constantly have to defend my existence & identity, but as a proud trans woman, I will not back down. Here’s part 2 of my reactions to conservative commentators: https://t.co/P75QNu2ct5 ❤️
@LeaningLeft46@ThomasWillett9 Can I ask for your perspectives on how you see sex, gender, and gender identity?
Let's be adults & see if we can debate kindly? / Open to DMs if you'd rather not share publically
Trans ideology doesn’t exist. Trans people do.
Gender critical ideology, on the other hand, exists & is the belief that trans people are inherently dangerous abusers who shouldn’t exist in public life.
@wekatweets@ScottyResponds @theskybeblue @PreXtious What sets GC apart from the right politically?
Attempts to listen to them haven't gone so well: I get booted out of their live Chats, insulted & blocked
The current list of insults is on my bio
Note that it's only the GC-side who've bothered to resort to insults
@wekatweets@ScottyResponds @theskybeblue @PreXtious I mean, we could cut the word te✂️rf
But i still think the trans-exclusionary side need to examine why they are there, and what it means to stay on that side after learning the right / alt-right are on the same side
@wekatweets@ScottyResponds @theskybeblue @PreXtious Seems we're unlikely to convince one another. The centrist view would advocate for aknowledging and respecting both sides trans/trans ally and terf. As well as not condoning violence used as a means of protest. How does that sit with you?
@wekatweets@ScottyResponds @theskybeblue @PreXtious From Google: Slur: an insinuation or allegation about someone that is likely to insult them or damage their reputation
Do you think being called a terf damages your reputation / insults you in general?
@wekatweets@ScottyResponds @theskybeblue @PreXtious You posted the same thing, we reached the same conclusion- I guess I'm unsure what you're hoping to get from this?
Very proud of this thread capturing the voices of over 100 awesome wāhine in Aotearoa who support the trans community.
It was created in response to the hate groups who claim they want to let women speak.
Well women have spoken and they say #TransRightsAreHumanRights 🏳️⚧️✊
@wekatweets@ScottyResponds @theskybeblue @PreXtious Sure. terf is short for trans-exclusionary radical feminist . On Twitter we don't have time to write that out all the time. It's not politicking or a slur, it's an acronym.
The old crew have already jumped ship, and are using GC instead
@wekatweets@ScottyResponds @theskybeblue @PreXtious I've seen people claiming to be a Terf proudly, and I've seen Terf used as an insult
With free speech, both cases are valid. We can't ban people using it in a derogatory manner
@wekatweets@ScottyResponds @theskybeblue @PreXtious Terf is a relatively new term: comparing it to the n-word - a word with hundreds of years of awful use & connotation - feels wrong
