@shitpost_2049 I used to hate the empire growing up, not that I favored the rebels I just preferred the republic. But then I grew up and realized the republic was terribly flawed and resulted in multiple of the worst wars and catastrophes in their history. The Empire unified the galaxy.
@NormBreaker3 I dont understand either side of this. firstly if your emulating then you dont get limited to just the old games. you still have everything released today I emulate ps4 on my steamdeck lol. But regardless comparing a collection of old consoles to a Full PC is apples to oranges.
@WildComputers Honestly its most likely gonna be mid like the last one. a decent singleplayer with an open world multiplayer thats only fun because of the players not the actual gameplay. Red Dead 2 was the same. Altho they might add some slop or overly political shit to ruin it who knows.
@Based_SpaceGoji They said right now. Once video ai advances to the level or beyond image ai currently is at, they 100% will. Ive seen enough of their half baked live action films to know they will use anything to make money lol.
@LostGround999@Xannybebop_@vidsthatgohard Which they only do so they can exploit their customers for in the long run then the console ever could of made for them even if they didnt sell at a loss. Theres always a catch when a company sells something for less than they could.
@xenos_kostas@Xannybebop_@vidsthatgohard its rage bait, but you realize valve is no where the size of their competitors? and they dont support things like terrorists and slave labor in africa like Sony and they dont force ai slopware and spyware on their customers like microslop does.
@Xannybebop_@vidsthatgohard despite the fact the “overpriced machine no one is gonna buy” sold out instantly everywhere despite the “high price” which anyone not living under a rock already knew the price would be months ago. Its probably mostly artificial outrage fanned by idiots and their competition.
@vidsthatgohard Except valve is the one company actually fighting to save PC gaming. Both in court and with their many projects to support a safe strong future for gamers who want to be free of live service bs, subscriptions, ai spyware, etc.
A grounded and reasonable take? What heresy is this! your supposed to have uncontrollable bursts of emotionally charged outbursts.
Fr tho this is not a surprise to me. Toho strikes me as a company that isnt chasing trends, but will adopt any proven stategy to make money.
Toho president Hiro Matsuoka on AI:
“AI is controversial and difficult to apply in creative fields. It also has various legal issues. Therefore, we don’t plan to adopt it at this stage, but we’re staying informed on the latest developments.”

@ShitpostRock its the same with people complaining about AI taking jobs. Ai is not that advanced rn so if you CAN be replaced, thats on you for sucking at your job. No one is replacing Stephen Spielberg or Takehiko Inoue or even authors worth their salt with an AI. Real talent is irreplaceable
The system is working exactly as intended
The real talent will land elsewhere and thrive, while the DEI hires and filler nepobabies stay jobless. This purge clears the dead weight so actual skilled devs can finally flourish
@DoeOnChain it was never sold as a console. it was sold as a small compact PC And even if it was the top model PS5 (the only one worth comparing) is 900$ so its not that big of a leap to go to a 1049$ machine. Especially since it can play literally thousands more games and is a powerful PC.
@ZhugeEX The GPU is not removable as far as I know. They could remove ram and ssd but I doubt many people would want to buy something only to disassemble it. Also your insane if you think they could ever sell it for 99$ xD the case alone probably cost them more to manufacture than that.
Welp unfortunately I wasnt selected to be in the first batch of steam machines ;( but silver lining is I have more time to prepare my wallet to be drained lol so ups and downs I guess.
