Washington Update: How Many More Innocent People Must Die Before the World Takes Action?
For far too long, targeted violence against Christian women, children, religious leaders, and innocent civilians in the Arsi region of Oromia, Ethiopia, has continued without an adequate response from the international community. This ongoing tragedy cannot be allowed to continue in silence.
Reports of atrocities committed by armed groups, including attacks on religious communities and the destruction of churches and private property, are deeply disturbing. The Ethiopian government has repeatedly failed to fulfill its fundamental responsibility to protect innocent civilians, safeguard religious freedom, and hold those responsible for these crimes accountable.
How many more innocent lives must be lost before meaningful action is taken? How many more families must suffer before the world responds?
Silence and inaction cannot be the answer. We must stand together to demand justice, accountability, and protection for the innocent people of Arsi and throughout Ethiopia.
I urge all Ethiopian Americans, human rights advocates, religious leaders, and concerned citizens to join this urgent advocacy campaign.
Please take a few minutes to contact your U.S. senators and representatives and urge them to address the ongoing human rights and humanitarian crisis in Ethiopia.
You can participate by using the letter provided below, which is ready to send to your elected representatives. Your voice matters, and every letter can help raise awareness and encourage action.
Together, we can amplify the voices of the voiceless and call on our elected officials to press for civilian protection, an independent investigation into reported atrocities, and accountability for those responsible.
Let us break the silence. Let us demand justice. Let us act before more innocent lives are lost.
Thank you for your support and commitment to defending human rights, religious freedom, and human dignity in Ethiopia.

🚨 More than 42 Amhara civilians massacred by Oromia Region Gada Commando forces, including over 40 in Tulu Gana and more than 20 taken from their homes and executed in Mender 23
On October 26th, more than 15 Amhara civilians fleeing massacres in Tulu Gana and Menders 15, 17 and 18 were intercepted by Oromia Region security forces backed by ENDF near the Anger area while attempting to reach Gutin and Uke towns. Eyewitnesses who survived the attack stated that the victims had their hands tied behind their backs before being killed with machetes and knives. According to survivors, the attackers told the women and children, “We will not waste bullets on you,” before striking them with machetes and cutting their throats. Additional civilians reportedly drowned in a nearby river while attempting to escape the violence.

The Coptic Orthodox Church in عمان stood in solidarity after the attack on the Greek Orthodox church in الكرك. Orthodox Christians continue to face targeted killings in Jordan and Ethiopia under the same pattern of attacks on churches and civilians.
At least 60 dead in Islamist massacre of Christians in Ethiopia | Not The Bee
I regret to report that the Mohammedans are imitating their "prophet" again.
Here's more from the Daily Mail on the recent persecution of the Ethiopian church:
More than 40 people were killed in attacks on Orthodox Christian churches and villages in Ethiopia on Saturday.
The attacks took place in Oromia, Ethiopia's largest state, which has faced a long-running insurgency and ethnic tensions, with armed groups using religion to inflame divisions.
'My sister and uncle were killed, and several of my relatives were taken hostage in Chole ward of Shirka district,' one resident said.
They said 44 people were killed in the region, while another resident put the toll at 51.
Church officials, according to newer reporting from the BBC, place the number killed at over 60.
Video from the Christian Emergency Alliance shows a number of bodies stacked side-by-side under blankets as locals mourn in shock.
[Warning: Distressing]
More from the Christian Emergency Alliance:
Surviving witnesses claimed regional authorities collaborated with Islamist militias to carry out the massacre.
Church leaders have repeatedly warned local authorities about armed groups entering the area, but received no serious response.
This is not an isolated incident, but rather part of a pattern of targeted attacks against Ethiopian Christians, who militants conflate with Amhara ethnicity.
This fusion of religious and ethnic violence against innocent Christians and their churches must not be tolerated.
We condemn these evil acts and call for the protection of Ethiopia's Christians.
