I just realised something crazy.
India's GDP was $700B in 2004, and it reached $2.1T by 2014. 3x in 10 years. It's been 12 years since then and our GDP is $3.9T. 3x toh choro, we've not even been able to 2x our GDP in 10 years LOLLL.
@SensingSenses@Prithvi10_ This was shot in 1979, Jyoti Basu had just come to power, and Calcutta/Bengal's decline had not yet begun. His victory in the next election ensured that he could go on to destroy the state.
A child who is constantly corrected stops talking.
At first, they tell you everything.
What happened at school.
Who hurt them.
What they are afraid of.
What silly mistake they made.
But when every conversation turns into a lesson, every mistake into a lecture and every opinion into a correction,
they learn a lesson:
"It is safer not to say anything."
So they stop asking. Stop sharing.
Stop opening up.
Years later, parents wonder,
"Why doesn't my child tell me anything anymore?"
The silence didn't begin in adolescence.
It began the day the child felt unheard.
Children need guidance. But they need emotional safety first.
Connect before you correct.
Because a child who feels safe will always come back to you.

@MasalaBai People who preach "sanskar" actually do it to preserve their power and position. The position that they have built by abusing the same "sanskar"
@joybhattacharj There was an unwritten rule in Bombay film/music circle back then that SD BURMAN wouldn't work the day East Bengal had a football match. All producers, singers, directors and technicians had to follow this one rule
@Newspaperwalli This is the narrative that has been propagated on News Channels and through whatsapp. Many people believe it, even in Kolkata. When you oppose them with facts, they get angry
