you are allowed to say, at any point, ‘I can't support this.’
even if you did. even if you were unsure.
you can say ‘this has gone too far.’ and while the best time to say that was earlier, the second best time is now.
watching the entire world rapid-fire disintegrate before your very eyes while the majority of people around you are acting like nothing is happening is the most terrifying and infuriating thing i've ever experienced
The ‘doesn’t stop transmission’ argument only makes sense if you believe the sole purpose of vaccination is herd immunity. This is a goalpost shift designed to disqualify most vaccines.
DTaP protects against three diseases that can kill or seriously harm children. Tetanus doesn’t even transmit person-to-person, so the ‘doesn’t stop transmission’ framing is incoherent from the start. Transmission interruption is one benefit of some vaccines, not the threshold for recommendation.
And the ‘insurance still covers them’ dismissal ignores how vaccination actually works in practice. Coverage isn’t access. When vaccines move from routine to shared decision-making, they disappear from the electronic health record prompts that remind providers to vaccinate. We have a decade of data: MenACWY, routinely recommended, has 89% uptake. MenB, shared decision-making, has 30% uptake. Same disease, same age group. The difference is the recommendation category.
Siri knows this. The framing is designed to sound reasonable while smuggling in a premise that would dismantle the entire schedule if accepted. By this logic, we shouldn’t recommend seatbelts because they don’t prevent car accidents.
YEAR ONE MAHA:

4. Pandemic preparedness gone
5. Swung & missed on autism
6. CDC disassembled
7. Biotech industry shutting down
8. Brain drain underway
i fear a lot of people in my life rn haven’t known me at a time in history when harry styles has been active and they’re about to meet an entirely different side of me
The most infuriating part of all this is how the press crucified @JoeBiden and his team over every word, every pause, every damn policy detail — but now they’re giving Trump and his unhinged crew a free pass on nearly everything.
It’s pathetic. The double standard couldn’t be more obvious.
Trump is admitting that he’s going to use the US military, on US soil, against US citizens — calling those who protest him and stand up against his attacks on our communities and democracy the “enemy from within.”
Whether you agree with the term is irrelevant.
This is fascism.
