My formative memory of Python was when the Quake Live team used it for the back end work, and we wound up having serious performance problems with a few million users. My bias is that a lot (not all!) of complex “scalable” systems can be done with a simple, single C++ server.
Sometimes I feel down, questioning whether the things I'm doing are even worth it.
But days like today remind me that it is. The community coming together, the amount of people who tell me how much our work means to them, everyone having genuine fun.
It's all worth it.
I feel like I rarely do anything in color so I did some doodles specifically to work with limited color palettes (featuring the cast of Sonic Rush Adventure)
