Intelligence, Integrity, Honesty, Talented, Fearless and Beautiful are a few of the words that captures these women in journalism that I get to call Friend!
Why in world is Alabama’s Attorney General—who’s supposed to represent all residents of Alabama—traveling to Washington on public dime to testify AGAINST first Black woman nominee to Supreme Court? Outrageous.
This #InternationalWomensDay, I'd like to appreciate the strong, intelligent, resilient women in my life -- from those whose footsteps marked the way for my own to those I work with every day to those who keep our local communities thriving. Together, we give each other strength.
It is also a reminder that we must remain diligent in our pursuit to eliminate disparities, disproportionalities, injustice and to dismantle systemic and historic racism.
In celebration of Black History Month I will be sharing stories of those “On Whose Shoulders We Stand” starting with Mayor Harold Washington, the first Black mayor of Chicago. He inspired me to join local government and changed my life!! 📸 : @chicagophotog1

Rhode Islanders from all 39 cities and towns have been impacted by the opioid crisis. Today, I joined @AGNeronha to announce that settlements with drug manufacturers have now totaled over $100 million for RI. The funds are a crucial resources to help address this crisis head on.
I want to thank Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott for her incredible service at @RIHEALTH. We all owe a debt of gratitude for her steadfast leadership, both during COVID-19 & on other public health issues, & dedication to health equity for all RIers. I wish her nothing but the best. .
What a fitting tribute to have Dr. Maya Angelou become the first Black woman on the U.S. quarter—she was a phenomenal woman whose comfort in her own skin made so many of us feel seen in ours. https://t.co/fBiICFWYUu
Before he sentenced three men convicted of killing Ahmaud Arbery to life in prison, Judge Timothy R. Walmsley held a minute of silence, saying he hoped to contextualize the time the 25-year-old was chased by the defendants https://t.co/wZZqxknieG
Today’s investments in our workforce, services, and economy will get us one step closer to #equity and closer to rebuilding a Rhode Island that is stronger than ever before. I would like to thank all that made this possible including @RISenate@RIHouseofReps and @GovDanMcKee
I was so honored to stand alongside @CommerceRI Secretary Pryor as the @RISenate and @RIHouseofReps voted on @GovDanMcKee’s RI Rebounds investment for pediatric providers, early intervention services, @ridcyf contracted providers, childcare providers, and more.
