Nattie Neidhart (Natalya) has made history, announcing on Instagram that she is the first woman to win the prestigious Lou Thesz Award from the Cauliflower Alley Club. The award is one of the highest honors in professional wrestling, named after the legendary multi-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
"To be the first woman to be awarded the prestigious Lou Thesz award means so much to me as Lou Thesz is held as a standard bearer in wrestling," she wrote in her announcement. By winning, Natalya joins an elite group of past recipients that includes her uncle Bret "Hitman" Hart, Kurt Angle, and Ron Simmons.
She also reflected on her long career and the constant challenges of the business that continue to drive her. "Like everything worth spending a life chasing, the wrestling business has never been easy. It’s not easy today. It never gets easy, and if it ever does, I’ll know that’s when it’s time to hang them up," she posted.
